LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's golf team travels to Creswell, Oregon, this weekend to compete in the 2024 Mountain West Championship.
The Aggies will join 10 other teams at the 54-hole event, which takes place Friday through Sunday, April 26-28, on the par-72, 7,210-yard Emerald Valley Golf Club.
The 11-team field will complete 18 holes each day, following a practice round on Thursday. The Aggies are the No. 9 seed and will tee off with No. 10 Boise State and No. 11 Air Force in the fifth group on Friday, starting at 11:10 a.m. (MT). Pairings for the final two rounds will be based on team standings from the previous day.

John Cook (Aguora Hills, California), junior
Julio Arronte (Xalapa,Veracruz, Mexico), junior
Esteban Jaramillo (Bogota, Colombia), freshman
Enrique Karg (Guadalajara, Mexico) and freshman
Ashton McArthur (Rexburg, Idaho). Junior Luis Cantu (Monterrey, Mexico) will be the Aggies' first alternate.
Utah State placed 10th at last year's MW Championships with a 17-over 881 (302-294-285).
Jaramillo has been Utah State's top placer at each of the last two MW Championships. In 2022, he tied for ninth at 4-under 212 (74-70-68) to record the Aggies' first individual top-10 finish in a conference championship since 2007. And in 2023, he tied for 38th with a 2-over 218 (75-73-70).
Cook tied for 46th at the 2023 MW Championships with a 9-over 225 (76-75-74), as did Cantu (73-81-71). And Arronte played two rounds at last year's championships and posted scores of 6-over 78 and even-par 72.
Cook also competed at the 2022 MW Championships and finished tied for 42nd at 11-over 227 (75-77-75), while Cantu played two rounds and had scores of 2-over 72 and 5-over 77.
Cantu leads the Aggies with a stroke average of 72.17 over six rounds this season, while Karg has a stroke average of 72.21 over 14 rounds. Arronte has a stroke average of 72.39 over 23 rounds, McArthur has stroke average of 72.85 over 20 rounds, Jaramillo has a stroke average of 73.35 over 23 rounds and Cook has a stroke average of 74.53 over 17 rounds.
Utah State enters this year's tournament ranked 157th (out of 305 NCAA Division I men's golf programs) in the latest GolfStat team rankings (as of April 22). New Mexico leads the field at No. 20, followed by No. 32 San Diego State, No. 51 Fresno State, No. 52 UNLV, No. 58 San José State, No. 69 Colorado State, No. 107 Nevada, No. 130 Wyoming, No. 182 Boise State and No. 250 Air Force.
New this year, all three rounds of the MW Championship will be streamed live on GolfKast via GKLive.TV. GKLive will livestream each day of the tournament, from the tee-off of the first group through the completion of the final group, providing coverage with 20 cameras on select holes. Hole 18 will include live play-by-play each day from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. PT. Jesse Kurtz of the Mountain West Network and Golfweek writer Lance Ringler will be on the call.
