LOGAN, Utah – Utah State University's 137th commencement ceremony will be held Thursday, May 2, at 9 a.m., in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum and among those graduating will be 73 USU student-athletes who completed their degrees during the 2023-24 academic year.
Of the 73 student-athletes graduating, 17 will receive their graduate degree and 56 will receive their undergraduate degree.
Among those student-athletes graduating are 16 football players, 12 women's track & field/cross country runners, 10 men's track & field/cross country runners, eight soccer athletes, seven players each from gymnastics and volleyball, three athletes each from golf, men's tennis and softball, and two athletes from both men's basketball and women's tennis.
Utah State's student-athletes traditionally rank among the best in the Mountain West with an NCAA Graduation Success Rate of 90 percent, one of four MW institutions to be at 90 percent or higher, and a cumulative 3.38 grade-point average.
For the 2023-24 academic year, USU had 94 student-athletes earn academic all-Mountain West honors from its fall sports, while 245 student-athletes were recognized at its annual Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Luncheon for earning a 3.2 or better GPA.
