LOGAN, Utah – Thirteen members of Utah State's gymnastics team received Scholastic All-America Award accolades from the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA), it was announced by the organization on Wednesday.
Along with the 13 Utah State gymnasts honored, a total of 1,159 student-athletes across the country earned a 3.5 or higher grade point average this past academic year.
Three Aggies posted a perfect 4.0 GPA in graduate
Lexi Aragon (environmental engineering), graduate
Juliette Boyer (law & constitutional studies) and freshman
Hattie Wright (kinesiology).
Other Aggies honored include sophomore
Avery Bibbey (3.98 GPA in kinesiology), junior
Payton Gatzlaff (3.92 GPA in kinesiology), freshman
Isabella Vater (3.80 GPA in exploratory studies), junior
Dani Kirstine (3.79 GPA in journalism), freshman
Mya Witte (3.76 GPA in exploratory studies), sophomore
Chelsea Southam (3.75 GPA in recreation administration), graduate
Alivia Ostendorf (3.68 GPA in integrated studies), freshman
Nyla Morabito (3.64 GPA in kinesiology), senior
Angel Stuart (3.59 GPA in journalism) and senior
Brianna Brooks (3.59 GPA in kinesiology).
This is the fifth WCGA Scholastic All-America Award for Aragon and Boyer, fourth for Brooks, third for Gatzlaff and Kirstine, second for Bibbey and Ostendorf, and first for Morabito, Southam, Stuart, Vater, Witte and Wright.
Furthermore, Utah State was one of 63 teams recognized for having a grade point average above a 3.50. Overall, USU earned a 3.59 grade point average for the 2023-24 academic year.
