LOGAN, Utah – Utah State Athletics is celebrating the academic achievements of its 355 student-athletes, who collectively earned an impressive cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.42 for the fall 2024 semester. This marks the highest GPA in the history of USU athletics. Additionally, this fall semester represents the 45th consecutive term in which all Utah State student-athletes combined to achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher, a streak that dates back to the fall of 2002.
 
"Our student-athletes continue to raise the standard of academic excellence at Utah State," said Utah State Vice President and Athletics Director Diana Sabau. "I am pleased that our head coaches emphasize the importance of academics and that our student-athletes continue to shine in academics as well as athletic competitions."
 
Over 80 percent of Utah State student-athletes earned a 3.0 or higher GPA, and 66 were named to the Dean's List for having at least a 3.5 GPA or higher with 15 or more credit hours. Thirty-six student-athletes made up a select group pursuing a second undergraduate degree or a graduate degree while competing in their respective sports. 
 
On the men's side, USU student-athletes earned a fall semester GPA of 3.25 and a cumulative GPA of 3.24, tying for the highest cumulative men's GPA in school history. On the women's side, USU student-athletes earned a fall semester GPA of 3.61 and a cumulative GPA of 3.63, the highest cumulative GPA in school history. This was the first semester since 2020 in which all 16 teams at Utah State earned a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
