U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colorado – Utah State's gymnastics team scored a 195.200 in its Mountain West dual at Air Force on Friday night. The Falcons won the meet with a 195.225.
Utah State began the meet on the bars and scored 48.925. USU followed with 48.900 on vault, 48.375 on floor and 49.000 on beam. Air Force scored a 48.900 on vault, 48.775 on bars, 48.925 on beam and 48.625 on floor.
Graduate
Jenna Eagles and sophomore
Sydney Jelen tied for first on beam with identical 9.875s for Utah State's only event title on the night.
Utah State posted four career highs and five season highs on the night as Jelen led the charge with a career high of 9.800 on bars to go along with her career-high-tying 9.875 on beam.

"I'm really proud of our team. We fought through injuries and illnesses all night. We had to have new individuals' step into lineups, and I am proud of what they did. There were some issues with the scoring, and I will be addressing my concerns with the appropriate individuals. We may have lost tonight but this team will continue to fight and be hungry."

Brianna Brooks led the Aggies with a 9.825 to finish second. Jelen scored a career-high 9.800, as did senior
Dani Kirstine, who made her season debut on the event. Freshman

Olivia Orengo scored a 9.725. Junior
Avery Bibbey rounded out the scoring for USU with an 8.925.

Angel Stuart also tied her season high with 9.750, while freshman
Kaylie Medrano scored 9.700 as the Aggies only competed five gymnasts on the event.

Medrano scored 9.775, Brooks scored 9.750 and Orengo scored 9.725. Sophomore
Mya Witte added a 9.100 for the Aggies.
