LOGAN, Utah – Utah State had two gymnasts earn weekly Mountain West honors following performances at Air Force on Friday.
Graduate
Jenna Eagles and sophomore
Sydney Jelen were named the MW Beam Co-Specialist of the Week.
Mountain West Beam Co-Specialist of the Week
Jenna Eagles (Gr., Ramsey, Minnesota)
- Won her first career beam title, tying for first with a career-high 9.875 and helping USU score a 49.000.
- Ranked sixth in the MW and tied for 21st in the North Central Region with an average beam score of 9.769.
Sydney Jelen (So., Algonquin, Illinois)
- Won her first career beam title, tying for first with a career-high-tying 9.875 and helping USU score a 49.000.
- Earned her second conference honor this season and of her career as she was named the MW Beam Specialist of the Week following her career-high 9.875 against Southern Utah on Jan. 10.
- Scored a 9.875 on each of her last three beam routines.
- Tied for first in the MW, ranked fourth in the North Central Region and tied for 38th nationally with an average beam score of 9.850.
