LOGAN, Utah – The 1A Faculty Athletics Representatives (1A FAR) announced their 2024-25 Academic Excellence Awardees on Thursday and Utah State had 14 student-athletes recognized.
 
Of its 14 selections, Utah State had five athletes from men's track and field, four from women's track and field, two each from gymnastics and volleyball and one from soccer.
 
New Mexico led the Mountain West with 29 selections, followed by Wyoming with 20 and Nevada with 16. Utah State tied with Boise State and San José State with 14 apiece. USU's men's track and field program led the conference with its five honorees.
 
The 1A FAR Academic Excellence Award recognizes outstanding student-athletes for their significant accomplishments in the classroom while competing at the highest level of college sports. The award is given annually to student-athletes who graduate with a cumulative GPA of 3.80 or above and have participated in at least two years of NCAA intercollegiate athletics at a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) institution.
