LOGAN, Utah – Utah State women's tennis preserved their perfect home record on the season, improving to 3-0 at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club with a 4-3 win over Montana on Sunday.
 
Doubles
The Aggies claimed the match's first point with wins at the second and third positions of the doubles lineup. After the Grizzlies won at court one, seniors Indya Nespor and Cielo Tapia-Cruz scored a 6-2 win at the No. 2 position. Shortly after, freshmen Natalie Paterova and Maria Paula Ramos Garcia matched the 6-2 win at the third spot to give USU the 1-0 lead.
 
Singles
Montana tied the match at 1-1 with a straight-sets win at the top spot in the singles lineup. Paterova then restored Utah State's advantage with a 6-3, 6-2 win at the No.3 position, before Nespor put the Aggies on the cusp of victory with a 7-5, 6-0 victory at court two. After the Grizzlies pulled another back at the fourth position, sophomore Niyati Kukreti came through with the clinching point for USU, coming back from 3-0 down in the opening set to score a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles and secure the Aggie victory.
 
Next Up
Utah State heads to the road to take on Idaho State won Wednesday, Feb. 26, at noon. The Aggies will then conclude non-conference play with a pair of matches in Irvine, California, against UC Irvine on Sunday, March 9, and against Illinois State on Monday, March 10.
