LOGAN, Utah – Utah State gymnastics will compete against BYU in the first round of the 2025 NCAA Regionals, hosted by the University of Utah, on Wednesday, April 2, at 2 p.m. USU's rotation order will be bars, vault, floor and beam. BYU's rotation order will be vault, bars, beam, floor.
The winner of the first-round matchup will advance to the second session of the second round and compete against No. 4 Utah, No. 14 Stanford and No. 18 Denver on Thursday, April 3, at 7 p.m.
Prior to Wednesday's meet, the Utah State Alumni Association will hold a free tailgate at the Huntsman Center in Parking Lot 19 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Fans can register

USU ranks second in the MW, fourth in the North Central Region, and 27th in the nation on bars with a NQS of 49.180. UTAH STATE AT NCAA REGIONALS
Utah State is competing in NCAA Regionals as a team for the first time since 2022 and for the 28th time in program history. At the 2022 NCAA Regionals in Norman, Oklahoma, USU placed third with a team score of 196.825. USU also tied for third at the 2021 NCAA Regionals in Salt Lake City with a score of 196.025 and placed third at the 1999 NCAA Regionals, hosted by USU, with a team score of 194.575.

BROOKS AT NCAA REGIONALS
Graduate
Brianna Brooks will be competing in her fourth NCAA Regionals as she qualified as an individual on bars in 2023 and 2024 and competed with her team in 2022. In the 2024 NCAA Regional, Brooks tied for first on bars with a season-high-tying 9.900 at the California Regional. In the 2023 NCAA Regionals, Brooks tied for third on bars with a career high 9.925, which is tied for 11th all-time in school history and ranks second all-time for a regional meet, at the Pittsburgh Regional. In 2022, Brooks competed on vault (9.725), bars (9.900) and beam (9.800) at the Oklahoma Regional. She tied for fourth with her score on bars, tied for 17th on beam and tied for 24th on vault.
In her three previous bar routines at NCAA Regionals, Brooks has scored a 9.900 twice and a 9.925 once.
BROOKS IN THE UTAH STATE RECORD BOOKS
Graduate
Brianna Brooks has claimed 24 event titles in her career, with nine on beam, nine on bars, five in the all-around and one on the vault. Her nine beam titles are the fourth most in school history, while her nine bar titles are the seventh most.
Brooks has 12 event titles this season, which is tied for the sixth most by a senior in school history, as she has placed first on beam seven times and first on bars five times. Her seven beam titles this season are tied with Tana Davis (1990) for the most in a single season in school history and her five bar titles are tied for the eighth most.
RECAPPING THE MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIP
Utah State won its first-ever Mountain West Championship with a 196.100 to defeat regular season champion Boise State (195.950), host San José State (195.350) and Air Force (195.150). It was USU's first conference title since winning the 2022 Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference. All-time, USU has won seven conference championships (2025, 2022, 2005, 2001, 1998, 1996, 1992). Brianna Brooks was named the Championship MVP as she tied for first on bars with a season-high-tying 9.900 and tied for third on beam with a 9.850.
Utah State began the meet on the floor and scored 49.050, followed by 48.900 on vault, 49.200 on bars and 48.950 on beam. USU's 196.100 is its third highest score of the season and tied for its fourth highest in a conference championship meet in program history.
SCOUTING BYU
BYU is ranked fifth in the Big 12 and tied for 32nd in the nation with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 196.025. The Cougars are tied for third in the Big 12 and tied for 26th in the nation on vault with a NQS of 49.035, fifth in the Big 12 and 36th in the nation on bars with a NQS of 49.045, sixth in the Big 12 and tied for 35th in the nation on beam with a NQS of 48.995, and second in the Big 12 and tied for 24th in the nation on floor with a NQS of 49.235.
Individually, junior Kylie Eaquinto ranks tied for 12th in the Big 12 and tied for 97th in the nation on vault with a NQS of 9.840 and tied for 13th in the Big 12th and tied for 128th in the nation on floor with a NQS of 9.860. Senior Anna Bramblett-Wilde ranks tied for 12th in the Big 12 and tied for 78th in the nation on bars with a NQS of 9.870. Sophomore Brynlee Andersen ranks fourth in the Big 12 and tied for 24th in the nation on beam with a NQS of 9.905.
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE COUGARS
Utah State trails in the all-time series against BYU, 53-92-1, which includes a 17-26 neutral site record. USU posted a 196.000-195.750 neutral site win against BYU earlier this year at the Best of Utah Meet. This will be the 15th meeting between the two programs at NCAA Regionals with BYU holding an 11-3 record in those matchups. The last time the two programs competed against one another at NCAA Regionals was in 2017 as BYU posted a 195.025-194.850 win.
