HISTORY
Utah State enters the Mountain West Championship looking to turn the tide in its series against San José State. While the Spartans lead the all-time matchup, the Aggies have a history of stepping up at neutral sites, earning three of their five wins on championship courts. Utah State has shown grit in past meetings, including a string of close battles and a dominant 6-1 road win in 2010. With postseason energy and a fresh opportunity ahead, the Aggies are ready to make their mark in their tournament debut in Las Vegas.
ICYMI
Utah State women's tennis showed resilience in singles play but came up short in a 4-1 road loss to Boise State on Thursday. The Broncos claimed the doubles point with wins at the top and bottom of the lineup, and led at No. 2 when the point was clinched.
In singles, the Aggies pushed back after falling behind early. Sophomore
Niyati Kukreti secured a straight-set win at No. 2, 6-2, 6-3, to put USU on the board. Freshman
Maria Paula Ramos Garcia and sophomore
Kylee Sperry each grabbed opening sets at courts five and six, giving Utah State a late surge. However, Boise State clinched the match with a tight second-set tiebreak on court four before the remaining matches could finish.
