AZUSA, Calif. — The school record in the women's 4x400-meter relay fell as Utah State track & field concluded the outdoor regular season at the Franson Last Chance in Azusa, California, on Friday and Saturday.
The quartet of freshman
Mashaylee Jones, senior
Emma Reeves, senior
Adi Nielson and junior
Alison Richter clocked in at 3:38.66, breaking the previous record of 3:38.93 set in 1996 by Becky Sorenson, Jane Marshall, Shelley Grupe and LaDonna Antoine-Watkins. This year's squad shaved 0.90 seconds off their previous best, set at the Beach Invitational in April, to move up from second in Aggie history. With this performance, the team became the first to break any of the seven school records set by Utah State Hall of Famer Antoine-Watkins, a two-time Olympian representing Canada, during her career from 1994-97.
Next week, Utah State will compete at the 2025 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Clovis, California, from Thursday to Saturday, May 15-17.
