LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis had five players named to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) 2025 Scholar-Athlete list, while the team also recorded a team GPA of 3.62 to earn ITA All-Academic Team honors.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, an athlete must have maintained a GPA of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form. Requirements for programs to be named an ITA All-Academic Team included a team GPA of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
Senior
Indya Nespor received the recognition for posting a 3.60 GPA while majoring in kinesiology. Playing exclusively at the top two positions in the lineup, Nespor posted a 9-8 record in singles play this season. Nespor also went 8-7 in doubles play. Alongside nine victories during the fall tour season, Nespor tallied 23 total victories on the year.
Senior
Cielo Tapia-Cruz also received the honor after earning a 3.93 GPA while majoring in integrated studies. A fixture of the doubles lineup this season, Tapia-Cruz posted an 8-7 record during the dual match season and a 14-10 doubles record including fall tournament play. Tapia-Cruz also posted seven singles wins on the year.
Junior
Magdalena Nunez Pureco earned the award after posting a 3.59 GPA while majoring in marketing. Nunez Pureco recorded seven singles wins and two doubles wins during the fall tournament season before being sidelined due to injury for the dual match season.
Freshman
Natalie Paterova recorded a 3.88 GPA while being undeclared on a major to earn the award. On the court, Paterova went 12-17 in singles matches on the year, climbing as high as the No. 3 position in the lineup during the dual match season, and also recorded a 10-9 record in doubles matches.
Freshman
Ana Sabikova earned the award after posting a 3.96 GPA while majoring in finance. On the court, Sabikova posted four singles and four doubles victories in her first year at USU.
