LOGAN, Utah – Utah State finished the 2024-25 academic year second in the Mountain West with a total of 227 scholar-athlete honors as 1,640 accolades were awarded by the league office on Thursday. In all, a total of 29 Aggies maintained a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the academic year.
 
The MW Scholar-Athlete Award is one of the highest academic honors bestowed by the conference. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least two academic terms at the member institution, while maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better.
 
Utah State led the MW with 49 scholar-athlete accolades from women's track & field, 36 from men's track & field, 12 from men's cross country and six from the men's basketball team and tied for first with 24 from soccer and 11 from volleyball. USU student-athletes were second in the league in women's cross country (20) and men's tennis (4), third in softball (15), gymnastics (13) and women's basketball (10), fourth in men's golf (5), and tied for fifth in football (17) and women's tennis (5).
 
Utah State's 227 scholar-athletes were the second-most in the MW behind New Mexico's 231. UNLV was third with 151 scholar-athletes, followed by Colorado State (149), Boise State (146), San José State (129), Nevada (128), Wyoming (121), Fresno State (117), San Diego State (101) and Air Force (78). MW affiliate schools Washington State (baseball, women's swimming and diving), Colorado College (soccer) and Hawai'i (football) rounded out the list with 27, 24 and 11 scholar-athletes, respectively.
