Dear Aggie Nation,

As we turn the page on the 2024-25 academic year, I want to thank you for your unwavering belief in Utah State, including our administration, coaches, and above all, our incredible student-athletes. Without your passion, we would not be able to reach and rise to new heights, including our upcoming departure from the Mountain West and integration into the new Pac-12 conference.

In the past year, we achieved significant progress and made remarkable advancements as we focused on modernizing and future-proofing our athletics department. Below are some of our major accomplishments in athletics; however, it is important to note that these do not include all the impressive achievements of our Utah State student-athletes and coaches.
  • Soccer set a school record for wins in a season, finishing the 2024 campaign 18-1-5 and winning its second-straight Mountain West Tournament title. The Aggies qualified for their fourth NCAA Tournament berth in program history, earned a No. 8 seed and hosted its first-ever game in the NCAA Tournament. USU head women's soccer coach Manny Martins was named Mountain West Coach of the Year for a second consecutive season.
  • The men's cross country team advanced to the NCAA Championships for the fifth time in program history, finishing 22nd at the event and earning its highest national finish since 2020. Graduate Camren Todd earned All-American honors and finished 25th at the NCAA Championships. Junior Logan Garnica received the Elite 90 Award.
  • Under the direction of first-year men's basketball head coach Jerrod Calhoun, the Aggies finished the 2024-25 campaign 26-8 and 15-5 in Mountain West play. Utah State reached the NCAA Tournament and was selected as a No. 10 seed, playing against No. 7-seeded UCLA in Lexington, Ky.
  • Women's gymnastics won its first-ever Mountain West Championship in 2025, while graduate Brianna Brooks was named MW Championship MVP, tying for first on bars with a season-high-tying 9.900 and third on beam with a score of 9.850. The Aggies were selected to the Utah Regional, making their 28th NCAA regional appearance.
  • Softball competed in the Mountain West Tournament for the first time in program history in 2025 (the league didn't hold a postseason tournament from 2007-22) and made its first postseason tournament appearance since the 2011 WAC Tournament.
  • Men's golf finished second in the GOLFWEEK National Golf Invitational Championship, making its second postseason appearance in program history.
  • Junior Logan Hammer finished sixth in the men's pole vault with a clearance of 5.61 meters (18-4.75) to earn first-team All-America honors at the 2025 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field Championships.
  • At the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, sophomore Shelby Jensen secured first-team All-America honors, finishing the 3,000-meter steeplechase in seventh (9:36.61). Hammer earned second-team All-America accolades in the pole vault, finishing 13th (5.33 meters) and becoming an All-American for the third time.
Additionally, Utah State achieved notable accomplishments beyond the fields of competition, including excellent academic performance, successful fundraising with the Big Blue Club and Blue A Collective, as well as supporting our local communities in Logan and Cache Valley.
  • Launched the Reach and Rise campaign in June 2024, and since its announcement, athletics has raised nearly $29 million towards its first comprehensive capital campaign in program history.
  • Utah State, Big Blue Club and Blue A Collective surpassed $1 million in cash and commitments during the inaugural Match Madness campaign. The event began with the NIL Open House on Monday, March 17, and maintained momentum through the NCAA Tournament.
  • At the 2024 A Day of Giving, Utah State surpassed its previous high for donations by 23%.
  • USU finished the year No. 13 in the NCAA/Helper Helper Top 25 for community service and engagement.
  • For the 2024-25 academic year, 266 student-athletes were recognized at the inaugural Sagebrush Awards as scholar athletes for earning a cumulative 3.2 grade point average or having posted a 3.2 GPA during the last two semesters, setting a program high for the department.
  • Women's cross country, golf, softball and women's tennis earned perfect multi-year scores of 1,000, which are compiled over four years ending in the 2023-24 reporting year.
Utah State is primed for success in its final season in the Mountain West in 2025-26. With change on the horizon in this ever-evolving world of intercollegiate athletics, I believe in our student-athletes and coaches and ask that you continue to showcase your unwavering support – whether it's in the stands, out in our community or with a financial gift that impacts the standard of excellence at Utah State.

Join us on this exciting journey and help us continue to reach and rise. If you haven't made a recent donation to the Big Blue Club, I urge you to invest in our mission because your support is vital to making Utah State a premier athletics program in the West.

I look forward to seeing you at the next athletics event or out in our community.

Go Aggies!
