LOGAN, Utah – Utah State had four gymnasts earn weekly Mountain West honors following performances last weekend as USU defeated San José State 195.050-194.675 and lost at Oregon State 196.600-196.075.
Senior Chelsea Southam and junior Isabella Vater were named MW Floor Co-Specialists of the Week, while Anabelle Dewey and Alianna Valdez were named MW Co-Freshman of the Week.

Mountain West Floor Co-Specialist of the Week
Chelsea Southam (Sr., Heber City, Utah)
- Named the MW Floor Co-Specialist of the Week for the first time in her career as she scored a career-high 9.875 at Oregon State to tie for second, helping USU score a season-best 49.225 on the event.
- Earned her first-career conference honor.
- Ranks seventh in the MW and 29th in the North Central Region with a floor average of 9.788.
Mountain West Floor Co-Specialist of the Week
Isabella Vater (Jr., Las Vegas, Nevada)
- Named the MW Floor Co-Specialist of the Week for the second time this year and third time in her career.
- Earned her third-career conference honor.
- Tied her career-high score on floor with 9.875 to tie for second at Oregon State, helping USU score a season-best 49.225 on the event.
- It is the third time this year and fifth time in her career she has scored 9.875 on floor.
- Ranks third in the MW, ninth in the North Central Region and 88th in the nation with a floor average of 9.844.

Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Week
Anabelle Dewey (Fr., Mount Juliet, Tennessee)
- Earned her second MW Freshman of the Week honor this year as she placed second on floor against San José State with a career-high 9.850, helping USU score a then-season-best-tying 49.000 on the event.
- Ranks fourth in the MW and 14th in the North Central Region with an average floor score of 9.833.
- Is the fourth Aggie in program history to garner MW Freshman of the Week accolades and the first to receive the honor multiple times.

Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Week
Alianna Valdez (Fr., Huntington Beach, California)
- Earned her first conference honor as she tied for third on beam at Oregon State with a career-high 9.850, helping USU score a season-best 49.150 on the event.
- Ranks third in the MW and 23ed in the North Central Region with an average beam score of 9.781.
- Is the fifth Aggie in program history to garner MW Freshman of the Week accolades.
Next Up
Utah State travels to Boise, Idaho, on Friday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m., to compete in the Boise State-hosted Quad Meet along with Mountain West-foes Boise State and Air Force, and Sacramento State.
