SALT LAKE CITY - Utah State women's tennis fought tough but fell to Utah, 7-0, on Friday morning at the George S. Eccles Tennis Center.
 
Doubles 
The Aggies fought tough for the doubles point as sophomore Natalie Paterova and freshman Terezia Mlkva led the way with a 6-4 win at the second position to answer a 6-4 Ute victory at the top spot in the lineup. At No. 3, sophomore Maria Paula Ramos Garcia and freshman Nadine Abid fought to a tiebreaker before Utah ultimately claimed the win and the doubles point with a 7-6 (5) win at the third position.

Singles 
USU continued to battle in singles play but was ultimately unable to secure a point despite several valiant efforts. At the fifth position, Ramos Garcia rebounded after dropping the first set to force a third-set tiebreaker before falling in a tight contest, 7-5, 2-6, 1-0 (10-8). Abid also fought in a close match before ultimately dropping a tiebreaker in the second set in a 7-5, 7-6 (4) loss.

Next Up
Utah State returns to the Sports Academy & Racquet Club in Logan for a doubleheader home opener. The Aggies will face off against Idaho State on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m., before also taking on Weber State at 4 p.m.
