SPOKANE, Washington - Utah State women's tennis twice pulled back even in singles play but was ultimately unable to pull off the comeback in a 4-2 loss at Gonzaga on Saturday.
 
Doubles 
The Bulldogs claimed the match's opening point with a 6-2 win at the second position and 6-4 win at the first position of doubles play. At the third spot, sophomore Maria Paula Ramos Garcia and freshman Nadine Abid were in a tight battle with the match left unfinished with the duo trailing only 5-4.

Singles 
Freshman Terezia Mlkva pulled the Aggies even to begin doubles play, moving to 4-2 on the season at the No. 1 spot of singles play with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Gonzaga's Diana Yanotovskaya. After the Bulldogs reclaimed their one-point advantage with a win at No. 2 singles, sophomore Natalie Paterova again evened up the score with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at the third position. After Gonzaga again restored its lead with a win at the fourth position, the Bulldogs then fully claimed the match with a three-set victory at No. 4 singles. At the sixth position, Abid had battled to a second-set tiebreaker before the match was left unfinished.

Utah State remains on the road to face Eastern Washington on Sunday, Feb. 15, at 11 a.m. (MT).
