EDINBURG, Texas - Utah State women's tennis delivered a dominant performance on the road Thursday morning, sweeping UTRGV 7-0 at the Orville Cox Tennis Center.
 
Doubles 
Utah State secured the opening point of the match with wins at the second and third positions. Freshmen Terezia Mlkva and Natalie Paterova led the way with a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Maria Paula Ramos Garcia and Nadine Abid followed with a 6-4 win at the third spot to clinch the point. At the top position, Olivia Halvorsen and Sabina Pintea were locked in a tight battle before their match was left unfinished while trailing, 5-4.

Singles 
The Aggies carried their momentum into singles play, winning all six matches to complete the sweep. Freshman Chahd Tourkhani earned a win by retirement after taking her opening set, 6-4, at the fifth position. Mlkva then put the Aggies at the precipice of victory with a 6-2, 6-2 win at the No. 1 position. Pintea followed with a 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 2 singles to clinch the Aggie victory. Playing out the rest of the matches, Abid extended USU's lead to 5-0 with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles. Ramos Garcia added another point at the fourth position with a 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-3) victory. Paterova then completed the sweep with a 6-7 (6), 6-2, 1-0 (10-5) win at No. 3 singles.
