LOGAN, Utah – Utah State head gymnastics coach Kristin White has announced the addition of Leona Gentien (Lee-oh-nuh / Jen-see-in).
Gentien has trained at Calgary Gymnastics Center in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, for two years under the direction of Janna Ball. She has competed at Level 10 for three years as an all-arounder.
At the 2025 National Championships, Gentien was the all-around champion and the silver medalist on bars. At the 2024 Provincials, she was the bronze medalist on beam. At the 2024 Western Championships, Gentien was the bronze medalist on floor and placed sixth in the all-around.

"We are thrilled to be adding another member to our team," said White. "Leona is a beautiful gymnast with technique and lines that will benefit highly in the collegiate environment. We look forward to her contributing on all four events next year. Welcome to the family, Leona."
The daughter of Christophe and Emi Gentien is set to graduate from Bowness High School this spring.
"I chose Utah State because of the genuine support I felt from the coaches, staff, and team," said Gentien. "I knew this was a place where I could grow confidently, trusting the coaches to guide me both on and off the mat, while being surrounded by a strong and encouraging support system.
"I'm so excited to be an Aggie and to be part of a program that values and supports its athletes. I'm looking forward to continuing to grow, learn, and contribute to a team that truly feels like a family."
