LOGAN, Utah- Utah State women's tennis earned a pair of home victories on Saturday afternoon at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club, defeating Idaho State, 6-1, before closing the day with a 4-1 win over Weber State.

Vs. Idaho State
Doubles
Utah State dropped the doubles point to open the match as Idaho State picked up 6-3 wins at the top two positions. At the third position, freshmen Maria Paula Ramos Garcia and Nadine Abid were locked in a tight battle before their match was left unfinished while trailing, 4-3. 

Singles
Utah State responded with a dominant showing in singles, winning all six matches to secure the 6-1 team victory. Sophomore Natalie Paterova was the first Aggie to strike, earning a convincing 6-4, 6-0 win at the third position. Ramos Garcia followed with a steady 6-2, 7-5 victory to give USU their first lead of the match.
Freshman Sabina Pintea furthered Utah State's lead with a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (7-2) win at No. 2 singles. Freshman Terezia Mlkva then delivered the clinching point in a three-set battle at the top spot in the lineup, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4. Freshman Chahd Tourkhani added another strong performance with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the fifth spot, and freshman Nadine Abid capped the day with a gritty 6-4, 0-6, 1-0 (13-11) win at the sixth position to complete the singles sweep.

Vs. Weber State
Doubles
Utah State came out strong in doubles play, sweeping all three matches to secure the early 1–0 lead. Seniors Olivia Halvorsen and Magdalena Nuñez Pureco began with a 6-2 win at the second position before Mlkva and Paterova picked up a 6-4 win at the top position to clinch the doubles point. Ramos Garcia and Abid followed shortly thereafter with a 7-5 win at the third position to further cement the dominant start for USU.

Singles
Utah State carried that momentum into singles competition, earning the three wins needed to secure the 4-1 team victory. Ramos Garcia led the way with a dominant 6-1, 6-1 straight-sets win at the third position to put the Aggies in front, 2-0. The Wildcats then earned their first point of the match with a win at the fourth position of the lineup.
After having their lead cut in half, the Aggies responded with wins at the top two positions to secure the victory. At No. 2 singles, Paterova earned a 7-5, 1-6, 6-2 victory to put USU on the cusp of victory. At the top spot in the lineup, Mlkva outlasted her opponent in a marathon match to earn the clinching point with a 7-5, 6-7 (3), 7-5 victory.
At the time the match was clinched, Nunez Pureco was locked in a 5-7, 6-1, 1-1 battle at the fifth position while Abid held a one-set advantage at the sixth position before both matches were left unfinished.
