LARAMIE, Wyoming - In the team's first match of Mountain West play, Utah State women's tennis fell on the road to Wyoming, 4-0, on Friday afternoon.

Doubles 
Sophomore Maria Paula Ramos Garcia and freshman Chahd Tourkhani led the Aggie charge during doubles play, recording a 6-4 victory at the third position of the lineup. The Cowgirls, however, sandwiched the match with wins at the top two courts to claim the doubles point and an early 1-0 lead.

Singles 
The Aggies looked to turn the tide in singles action, winning the first set at three of the top four positions of the lineup. Freshman Terezia Mlkva earned a tiebreaker victory in her first set at No. 1 singles while freshman Sabina Pintea and Ramos Garcia earned 6-4 and 6-1 wins, respectively, in their opening sets at the third and fourth positions. Wyoming rallied, though, taking a straight-sets win at No. 2 singles before clinching the match with three-set wins at the No. 3 and 4.

In her own third set, Mlkva was locked in a tight battle, trailing 3-4 at the time the match was clinched. At the bottom two positions of the lineup, freshman Chahd Tourkhani claimed her opening set, 7-5, at the fifth position while sophomore Kylee Sperry won the opening game for a 1-0 lead at No. 6 singles before the matches were left abandoned.
