Gymnastics Concludes Regular Season at Arizona State Tri Meet

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State gymnastics (15-4, 4-2 MW) will conclude its 2026 regular season on Sunday, March 15, at the Arizona State Tri Meet with the host Sun Devils (9-8, 2-3 Big 12) and Southeast Missouri (14-6, 4-0 MIC) at 3 p.m. (MT). USU is ranked 27th in the nation in this week's Road to Nationals Poll, while ASU is ranked 32nd and SEMO is ranked 49th.

Utah State's rotation order will be bars, beam, floor, and vault. The meet will be streamed live on ESPN+ and live scoring will be available via Virti.us.

HEAD COACH KRISTIN WHITE RECEIVES CONTRACT EXTENSION
Utah State University Vice President and Director of Athletics Cameron Walker announced on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, a contract extension for gymnastics head coach Kristin White through the 2030 season. White is currently in her fourth year with the program.

UTAH STATE WINS MOUNTAIN WEST REGULAR SEASON CHAMPIONSHIP
With its home win against Air Force on Feb. 27, Utah State improved to 4-2 in Mountain West action and claimed at least a share of the MW regular season championship. It is USU's eighth conference title in program history, and second in as many years, as the Aggies won the MW postseason championship last year. It is the first time in program history that USU has claimed back-to-back conference championships.

UTAH STATE NOTES
Utah State is 15-4 on the season and finished its home schedule with a perfect 8-0 record, marking just the fourth time in the 49-year history of USU gymnastics that the program has posted an undefeated home campaign. USU's 15-4 start to this season is the second-best in school history trailing only the 1978 club that began that year with a 27-1 record.

Utah State ranks first in the Mountain West and 27th in the nation with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 195.890. USU ranks first in the MW and 24th in the nation on bars with a NQS of 49.020, first in the MW and 27th in the nation on beam with an NQS of 48.923, first in the MW and 29th in the nation on floor with an NQS of 49.123, and second in the MW and 36th in the nation on vault with an NQS of 48.860.

Individually, junior Nyla Morabito ranks third in the MW and 60th in the nation on vault with an NQS of 9.850. Junior Isabella Vater ranks second in the MW and 75th in the nation on floor with an NQS of 9.875. Sophomore Olivia Orengo and fellow sophomore Lundyn VanderToolen both rank second in the MW and 86th in the nation on bars with an NQS of 9.855. Junior Sydney Jelen and fellow junior Mya Witte both rank second in the MW and 95th in the nation on beam with an NQS of 9.845.

MORABITO FIFTH ALL-TIME IN SCHOOL HISTORY WITH 11 VAULT TITLES
Junior Nyla Morabito has won 11 vault titles in her career, which is the fifth-most in program history. Morabito has already won eight vault titles this year, which is the second-most in a single season in program history. For her career, Morabito has 20 titles (11 vault, 8 floor, 1 beam).

Morabito has won 11 titles this year (8 vault, 2 floor, 1 beam) which is tied for the fifth-most by a junior in program history.

TWO AGGIES EARN WEEKLY MOUNTAIN WEST HONORS
Utah State had two gymnasts earn weekly Mountain West honors as junior Nyla Morabito was named the MW Floor Specialist of the Week, while freshman Mara Gruber was named MW Co-Freshman of the Week.

Morabito was named the MW Floor Specialist of the Week for the first time this year and fourth time in her career as she scored a career-high-tying 9.925 against OSU to win the event and helping USU score a season-best 49.325 on the event. It is her second conference honor this year and the 12th of her career.

Gruber earned her third conference honor this year as she tied for third on floor with 9.875 against Oregon State, helping USU to a season-best 49.325. Has now been named the MW Freshman of the Week twice this season, along with garnering MW Floor Co-Specialist of the Week honors once. Gruber is the fifth Aggie in program history to garner MW Freshman of the Week accolades, including the third this year.

LAST TIME OUT
Utah State concluded one of the best weeks in program history by defeating future Pac-12 opponent and 25th-ranked Oregon State 196.650-196.150 at home on Friday, March 6, 2026. That 196.650 is the third-highest home score in school history and the 10th-highest overall.

It is the fourth-straight meet that USU has scored at least a 196.000. USU posted five career-high scores during the meet to go along with one season-high score.

Utah State began the week with a 196.875-195.725 win at Southern Utah on Monday, March 2, which is its third-highest score ever. USU then announced on Tuesday, March 3, that head coach Kristin White has signed a contract extension through the 2030 season.

Utah State started the meet on the vault and scored 48.975, followed by a season-high 49.325 on bars, 49.025 on beam and a season-high 49.325 on floor. USU's score on bars is tied for the fifth highest in program history. Oregon State scored 48.750 on vault, 49.150 on bars, 48.975 on beam and 49.275 on floor.

Utah State claimed all four event titles, led by junior Nyla Morabito who tied for first on vault with a career-high-tying 9.875 and won floor with a career-high-tying 9.925. Junior Sydney Jelen won the bars title with a career-high 9.925, which is tied for the 11th-highest bars score in program history. Junior Mya Witte and sophomore Kaylie Medrano shared the beam title with scores of 9.850, which tied a career-high for Medrano.

Utah State opened the meet with 48.975 on vault, which is its third-highest score on the apparatus this year. Morabito led USU with a career-high-tying 9.875 to tie for first on the event. Witte led off with a career-high-tying 9.775 and sophomore Lundyn VanderToolen followed with a 9.650. Freshman Anabelle Dewey scored 9.775 as did freshman Alianna Valdez and junior Isabella Vater.

Utah State moved to bars for its second rotation and posted a season-high 49.325, which is tied for the fifth-highest bars score in program history. Jelen began the rotation with a bang as she posted a career-high 9.925 to win the event, which is tied for the 11th-best bars score in program history. Vater then scored 9.825 and sophomore Olivia Orengo posted 9.850. Following a 9.225 from senior Avery Bibbey, VanderToolen scored 9.875 to place second and freshman Charley Laufer scored 9.850.

Moving to beam for its third rotation, Utah State scored 49.025. Witte and Medrano both scored 9.850 to tie for first on the event. Jelen began the rotation with 9.825 and Orengo then scored 9.750. Valdez posted 9.750 and Laufer scored 8.900.

Utah State finished the competition with a season-high 49.325 on floor. Morabito led USU with a career-high-tying 9.925 to win the event. Orengo led off and scored 9.850 and freshman Sienna Yelle followed with 9.825. Senior Marley Peterson posted 9.775, Vater scored 9.850 and freshman Mara Gruber scored 9.875 in the anchor spot.

Utah State travels to Boise, Idaho, to compete in the 2026 Mountain West Championships on Saturday, March 21, at 6 p.m. USU won the 2025 MW Championships with a 196.100.
