LOGAN, Utah – Utah State gymnastics will look to defend its title from last year as it travels to Boise, Idaho, this weekend to compete in the third annual Mountain West Championships, hosted by Boise State, on Saturday, March 21, at 6 p.m.
The meet will be streamed live on the MW Network and live scoring will be available via Virtius. USU won the 2025 MW Postseason Championships with a 196.100.
Utah State will begin the meet on vault and finish on floor. San José State will begin on bars, Air Force will start on beam, and Boise State will begin on floor.

UTAH STATE NOTES
Utah State ranks first in the Mountain West and 28th in the nation with a National Qualifying Score (NQS) of 195.855. USU ranks first in the MW and 25th in the nation on beam with a NQS of 48.930, first in the MW and 27th in the nation on bars with an NQS of 48.993, first in the MW and 29th in the nation on floor with an NQS of 49.108, and second in the MW and 37th in the nation on vault with an NQS of 48.855.
Individually, junior Nyla Morabito ranks third in the MW and 76th in the nation on vault with an NQS of 9.850. Junior Isabella Vater ranks third in the MW and 82nd in the nation on floor with an NQS of 9.880. Sophomore Olivia Orengo and fellow sophomore Lundyn VanderToolen both rank second in the MW and 96th in the nation on bars with an NQS of 9.855. Junior Sydney Jelen and fellow junior Mya Witte both rank third in the MW and 102nd in the nation on beam with an NQS of 9.850.
UTAH STATE WINS MOUNTAIN WEST REGULAR SEASON TITLE
With its home win against Air Force on Feb. 27, Utah State improved to 4-2 in Mountain West action and claimed a share of the MW regular season championship. It is USU's eighth conference title in program history, and second in as many years, as the Aggies won the MW postseason championship last year. It is the first time in program history that USU has claimed back-to-back conference championships.
MOUNTAIN WEST POSTSEASON HONORS
Utah State had six gymnasts earn seven combined All-Mountain West honors as announced by the conference office this week.
Utah State had six gymnasts earn first-team All-MW honors in junior Sydney Jelen (beam), junior Nyla Morabito (vault), junior Isabella Vater (floor), junior Mya Witte (beam), sophomore Olivia Orengo (bars), and sophomore Lundyn VanderToolen (bars). Jelen also earned second-team All-MW honors on bars.
UTAH STATE CHAMPIONSHIP HISTORY
Utah State has won Mountain West Championships in each of the last two years as it shared the regular season title this year and won the MW Postseason Championship last year. All-time, USU has won eight conference championships (1992, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005, 2022, 2025, 2026) and has advanced to NCAA Regionals 28 times.
UTAH STATE TIES SCHOOL RECORD WITH FIFTH STRAIGHT SCORE OVER 196.000
Utah State has scored 196.000 or better six times this year, including in each of its last five meets, which is tied with the 2021 team for the most consecutive scores of 196.000 or better in program history. Overall, USU's six team scores of 196.000 or better this year is the third-most in school history.
AGGIES HAVE FOURTH MOST REGULAR SEASON WINS IN PROGRAM HISTORY
Utah State's 16 regular season wins this year are tied for the fourth-most in program history and the most since 1986.
Utah State finished its home schedule with a perfect 8-0 record, marking just the fourth time in the 49-year history of USU gymnastics that the program has posted an undefeated home campaign.
Utah State's 15-4 start to this season was the second-best in school history trailing only the 1978 club that began that year with a 27-1 record.
MORABITO TIES SCHOOL RECORD WITH. NINE VAULT TITLES THIS YEAR
Junior Nyla Morabito has won nine vault titles this year, which is tied with Michelle Pohl (1983), for the most in a single season in program history. For her career, Morabito has 21 titles (12 vault, 8 floor, 1 beam). Her 12 career vault titles are the fifth-most in program history.
Morabito has won 12 titles this year (9 vault, 2 floor, 1 beam), which is the fifth-most by a junior in program history.
SERIES HISTORY WITH THE COMPETITION
Utah State is 20-4 all-time against Air Force, including a 6-1 record at neutral sites. USU won two of the three meetings against the Falcons this year as USU posted a 195.350-194.225 neutral site win on Jan. 30, AFA posted a 195.800-195.400 home win on Feb. 6, and USU posted a 196.025-195.825 home win on Feb. 27.
Utah State is 62-60-1 all-time against Boise State, including a 19-23 road record. USU swept the season series with the Broncos this year as it posted a 195.350-195.250 road win on Jan. 30, and a 196.325-194.950 home win on Feb. 20.
Utah State is 21-19 all-time against San José State, including an 8-7 neutral site record. The two teams split the season series this year as USU posted a 195.050-194.675 home win on Jan. 23, and SJSU notched a 196.350-195.675 home win on Feb. 15.
LOOKING BACK AT THE 2025 MOUNTAIN WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS
Utah State won its first-ever Mountain West Gymnastics Championship, hosted by San José State University, as the Aggies scored a 196.100 to secure its seventh conference title in school history and first since winning the 2022 Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championship.
Graduate Brianna Brooks, who was named the Championship MVP, tied for first on bars with a season-high-tying 9.900 and tied for third on beam with a score of 9.850.
Utah State began the meet on the floor and scored 49.050, followed by 48.900 on vault, 49.200 on bars and 48.950 on beam. USU's 196.100 is its third highest score of the season and tied for its fourth highest in a conference championship meet in program history.
Boise State placed second with a 195.950, San José State finished third with 195.350 and Air Force scored 195.150 to place fourth.
NEXT UP
Utah State will be one of the top 36 teams competing in the NCAA Regionals, which begins the first weekend in April. It will be USU's second-straight regional appearance as a team and 29th overall in program history.
