LOGAN, Utah – Utah State University Vice President and Director of Athletics Cameron Walker announced Tuesday an immediate national search for the next Utah State men's basketball head coach following the departure of Jerrod Calhoun.

"I am thankful for Jerrod's efforts the last two seasons leading our men's basketball program, including two NCAA Tournament appearances, regular-season and tournament championships, and most recently a victory in the first round of the NCAA Tournament," said Walker. "I wish him, Sarah and their daughters all the best."

The Utah State men's basketball program has played in 26 NCAA Tournaments, including four straight and six of the last eight (USU qualified for the 2020 NCAA Tournament before it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Since 2000, Utah State has played in 14 NCAA Tournaments.

The Aggies tallied 29 wins in 2025-26, reaching the 25-win milestone for the fourth straight season, a first in program history. Overall, USU has 13 seasons with 25-plus victories. Utah State captured both the outright Mountain West regular-season and tournament championships this season, securing its 19th regular-season title and 11th conference tournament crown.

Individually, Utah State has been well represented with conference accolades, including nine player of the year honorees and 89 all-conference selections.

"Utah State men's basketball is one of the premier basketball programs in the country," said Walker. "We will continue investing at a high level as we pursue championships and competitive excellence in the new Pac-12. The support of Cache Valley further enhances this amazing opportunity in Logan. Our fans and the HURD are phenomenal. We will work relentlessly to identify the next men's basketball leader, who will continue to build on our rich tradition."

A national search for Utah State's next head men's basketball coach will begin immediately.
