LOGAN, Utah - Against the team tied atop the Mountain West standings, Utah State women's tennis stood tall but ultimately fell in a tight match to UNLV, 4-2, on Friday at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club.

Doubles 
The Aggies met the challenge from the first serve, answering a Rebel win at No. 1 doubles with back-to-back wins at the second and third positions to take the doubles point. At the No. 2 spot, sophomore Natalie Paterova and freshman Sabina Pintea combined for a 6-2 win to set up sophomore Maria Paula Ramos Garcia and freshman Chahd Tourkhani to be able to clinch the doubles win with a 6-4 victory at the third spot.

Singles 
The match remained tight throughout a back-and-forth affair in singles play. UNLV jumped in front with a pair of wins at the top two spots of the lineup before Tourkhani brought the Aggies back even with a 7-5, 7-5 victory at the fifth position. All three remaining of the remaining matches went a full three sets with each side holding a lead in the set. At No. 3 singles, Paterova battled back late in the third set for back-to-back points to take a 6-5 lead before close Rebel wins at the fourth and sixth positions sealed the win for the visitors.
