LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis outlasted Nevada for a 4-2 victory on Sunday at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club, improving to 8-8 on the season. USU's eight wins are already the most by the program in a single season since 2019.

Terezia Mlkva kicked the day off with a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles. From there, the match grew increasingly tight. Nevada responded with a 7-5 win at the top spot of the doubles lineup before sophomore

Chahd Tourkhani pulled through with a 6-4 win at No. 3 doubles to secure the 1-0 lead for USU.
Singles
Ramos Garcia picked up in singles play where she left off in doubles, dominating at the No. 4 position in a 6-0, 6-2 win to double Utah State's lead. The remaining five matches all either went a full three sets or involved tiebreakers. At the sixth position, redshirt junior
Magdalena Nunez Pureco came through in the clutch in a first-set tiebreak before breaking open the match in the second to record a 7-6 (5), 6-1 victory, putting the Aggies up, 3-0.
The Wolf Pack battled back, winning at the top two positions in matches that both featured tiebreaks. At the second position, freshman
Sabina Pintea battled back from a multi-break deficit in the second set to win in a tiebreaker, 7-6 (3), and force a third set where she again attempted a multi-point comeback, winning three-straight points before ultimately falling, 1-6, 7-6 (3), 4-6. At the fourth position, however, Paterova returned momentum to the Aggies with a dominant third set, blanking her opponent and securing the team victory with a 4-6, 6-3, 6-0 win. At No. 5 singles, Tourkhani was tied at 5-5 in a decisive third set at the time the match was clinched.
