MARICOPA, Arizona – Utah State golf shot a final round of 1-under-par 287 and finished in 15th place at 14-over 878 (292-299-287) at the Wyoming-hosted Cowboy Classic held here on Tuesday and Wednesday at the par-72, 7,330-yard Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club.
USC won the championship in the 25-team field with a 26-under 838 (272-282-284) while Arkansas State's Thomas Schmidt took medalist honors at 13-under 203 (67-67-69).
Sophomore Chase Goetschel led the Aggies as he tied for 33rd at 1-under 215 (73-74-68) for his third under par finish this season, including his second in as many weeks. His 4-under 68 on his final 18 holes ties his career-low round as it is his fourth round in the 60s this year and eighth round under par.
Sophomore Noah Moody finished tied for 53rd at 2-over 218 (72-74-72). Freshman Zach Skinner tied for 64th at 4-over 220 (72-73-75). Sophomore Hunter Hall tied for 92nd at 9-over 225 (75-78-72). Sophomore Toby Heider tied for 110th at 14-over 230 (75-79-76).

Utah State continues its spring season on Monday and Tuesday, Aprill 6-7, at the UCSB Gaucho Invitational. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at the Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, Calif.
