Women’s Tennis Loses to No. 60 Boise State, 4-1

LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis fell to No. 60 Boise State, 4-1, on Friday at the Sports Academy & Racquet Club in the team's regular season finale.

The Aggies celebrated Senior Day prior to match, honoring the careers of Magdalena Nunez Pureco and Olivia Halvorsen before doubles play.

Doubles 
USU fought tough in doubles, answering a Bronco win at court three with a victory of their own at the second position. Sophomore Kylee Sperry and freshman Terezia Mlkva combined for the 6-2 win to pull even for the doubles point before BSU ultimately grabbed the 1-0 advantage with a win at the top spot in the lineup.

Singles 
After the Broncos doubled up their lead with a win at No. 4 singles, sophomore Maria Paula Ramos Garcia drew one back for the Aggies with a straight-sets victory at the third position, recording a 6-2, 6-2 win. Boise State ultimately took the match, winning at No. 1 singles and taking a three-set win at the second position to clinch the match.

Next Up
Utah State heads to Las Vegas for the Mountain West Tournament held at the Darling Tennis Center on Wednesday through Saturday, April 22-25. The Aggies will enter the tournament as the conference's No. 6 seed.
