BATON ROUGE, Louisiana – Utah State gymnastics scored 195.750 and placed fourth in Session 1 of the second round of the NCAA Baton Rouge Regional, held here inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center Thursday afternoon.
It was Utah State's 29th NCAA Regional in program history and its first time competing in the second round since 2022.
Utah State, ranked 26th in the nation, began the meet on floor and scored 49.100, followed by 49.000 on vault, 48.925 on bars, and 48.725 on beam. Its vault score was the fourth best of the season.
Utah State finished the 2026 campaign with a 19-8 record, which is the sixth most wins in program history.
No. 7 Stanford placed first with a team score of 197.175 and No. 10 Michigan finished second with 196.600 as both programs advance to the NCAA Regional Finals. No. 22 North Carolina placed third with a score of 196.250.
Rotation One – Floor (49.100)
Utah State began the meet on floor and scored a 49.100. Sophomore Olivia Orengo began the rotation with 9.800, followed by another 9.800 from freshman Sienna Yelle. Senior Marley Peterson followed with 9.775. Junior Nyla Morabito then scored 9.850, while fellow junior Isabella Vater scored 9.800. Freshman Mara Gruber concluded the rotation with 9.850 in the anchor spot. Morabito and Gruber both tied for 11th on the event.

Rotation Two – Vault (49.000)
Utah State then competed on vault and scored 49.000, its fourth-best score on the event this season. Junior Mya Witte began the rotation with a career-high 9.825 and sophomore Lundyn VanderToolen notched 9.775. Freshman Alianna Valdez scored 9.800. Sophomore Kaylie Medrano and Vater followed with identical scores of 9.750. Morabito finished the rotation with 9.850 in the anchor spot to lead USU and tie for fourth overall.

Utah State moved to bars for its third rotation and scored 48.925. Junior Sydney Jelen paced the Aggies with 9.850 in the leadoff spot to tie for fourth overall. Vater and Orengo followed with scores of 9.725, while senior Avery Bibbey scored 9.775. VanderToolen also scored 9.775 and freshman Charley Laufer posted 9.800 in the anchor spot.

Utah State concluded the meet by scoring 48.725 on beam. Jelen started off with a team-best 9.825 to tie for seventh overall. Oregno scored 9.500 and Medrano followed with 9.675. Valdez then scored 9.725 and Laufer posted 9.700. Witte concluded the rotation with 9.800 in the anchor spot.
