LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis freshman
Terezia Mlkva earned both All-Mountain West Singles and Freshman of the Year honors, it was announced Tuesday as the league released its all-conference teams.
Mlkva compiled a 10-9 singles record this season while playing exclusively at the No. 1 position of the lineup. In MW play, Mlkva has recorded four singles victories and went unbeaten in road matches against MW opponents, with a further four losses in conference play coming in three sets or in tiebreaks. Mlkva has supplied the clinching point a team-high five times this season and has four straight-set wins to her name.
In doubles play, Mlkva has gone 12-7 while appearing predominantly at the second position where she has gone 10-3. Mlkva has supplied the clinching point for doubles on three occasions this season. Mlkva also earned MW Freshman of the Week honors a league-leading three times this season.
Mlkva is USU's first all-conference singles player since
Zeynep Naz Ozturk in 2023 and the Aggies' first-ever conference superlative award winner.
Next Up
The Aggies begin postseason play on Wednesday at 10 a.m. (MT) against 11th-seeded San Jose State in the first round of the MW Tournament in Las Vegas.
