LOGAN, Utah - Utah State women's tennis earned ITA All-Academic Team honors while a program-record seven players received ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, it was announced on Monday.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, individuals must carry a GPA of at least 3.5 for the current academic year. To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team GPA of 3.2 or above.
The Aggie women earned the team award after carrying a 3.61 GPA for the 2025-26 academic year. Individually,
Olivia Halvorsen (3.71, majoring in biology),
Terezia Mlkva (3.88, psychology),
Magdalena Nunez Pureco (3.87, marketing),
Natalie Paterova (3.65, integrated studies),
Sabina Pintea (3.88, kinesiology),
Maria Paula Ramos Garcia (3.58, finance) and
Kylee Sperry (3.64, marketing) all received ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition.
For Nunez Pureco, this is her third career ITA Scholar-Athlete award. The senior from Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, compiled records of 12-9 in singles and 6-10 in doubles on the year, including a 5-1 singles record in conference matches during the dual match season.
This is Paterova's second-straight year earning ITA Scholar-Athlete honors. The sophomore from Kladno, Czech Republic, went 6-17 in singles and 16-11 in doubles on the year. She was also named to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
This is Halvorsen's first career ITA Scholar-Athlete award as the senior from Milton, Ontario, Canada, posted records of 3-8 and 7-12 in singles and doubles play, respectively.
Ramos Garcia also earned the award for the first time after the sophomore from Guatemala City, Guatemala, went 17-16 in singles and 20-9 in doubles matches on the year, including a mark of 14-4 at No. 3 doubles during the dual match season.
Sperry earned the award for the first time after the sophomore from Lehi, Utah, went 4-11 in singles play and 14-9 in doubles on the year, including a 7-1 showing at No. 2 doubles during the spring season.
Mlkva earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors in her first year at Utah State as the freshman from Piestany, Slovakia, earned all-Mountain West singles honors and was named the MW Freshman of the Year, the program's first-ever conference superlative award. Mlkva went 15-16 in singles play and 21-12 in doubles on the year. Playing exclusively at No. 1 singles, Mlkva went 10-10 during the spring and provided the clinching point a team-high five times.
Pintea also earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors as a freshman as the product of Iasi, Romania, went 6-12 in singles and 8-9 in doubles during the spring season, playing almost exclusively at the top two positions in each lineup and posting a mark of 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
