LOGAN, Utah - Utah State head women's tennis coach
Veronika Golanova announced the team's 2026 signing class on Monday. The Aggies will welcome in a pair of transfers and a pair of freshmen in advance of the fall tournament season.
Tia Clemens joins the Aggies after spending three seasons at Bowling Green. Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Clemens compiled 60 wins across her three years with the Falcons, including 40 singles victories. This past season, Clemens led the team with 20 total wins, competing in every match for BGSU and earning All-MAC second team honors. Prior to Bowling Green, Clemens attended St. Joseph Academy in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was a two-time varsity MVP, a 2020-21 state singles qualifier and was named the North Coast League Blue Division MVP in 2019.
Tayla Wilmot comes to USU after playing her first three years at Tulsa. Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Wilmot totaled 59 wins for the Golden Hurricane. As a freshman in 2023-24, Wilmot helped Tulsa win the UTR Sports NIT Championship with victories in both singles and doubles play. A three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete and a 2025 CSC Academic All-District Team member, Wilmot recorded 13 victories in both singles and doubles play in her last full season in 2024-25 and added another 10 wins this past year in limited action for Tulsa. Prior to her time at Tulsa, Wilmot attended CMK in Johannesburg where she was a multi-sport athlete, also competing in field hockey and swimming.
Sofie Hrdinova joins Utah State out of Hradec Kralove, Czechia, where she has climbed as high as 1,081st in the World ITF rankings. She has gone 7-5 in professional ITF singles matches in her career after compiling records of 22-24 and 10-11 at the junior level in singles and doubles play, respectively. Hrdinova reached the semifinals of the main draw in singles play at the J30 Hradec Kralove and the J30 Cairo in 2025. That same year, she twice advanced out of qualifying draws at the W15 Villena and the W15 Torelló, also winning a first-round match in the main draw at Villena.
Giulia Musat arrives to Logan out of Arad, Romania, where she has claimed as high as 828
th in the World ITF rankings with a career record of 6-6 in ITF singles matches. She advanced out of the qualifying draw with a pair of victories at the W15 Kursumlijska Banja in 2026, also reaching the quarterfinals of the main draw in doubles play. At the junior level, Musat went 27-29 in singles matches, advancing out of qualifying draws in eight tournaments. She made a quarterfinal run in the main draw at the J30 Murska Sobota and J30 Porstejov, also reaching the third round at the J60 Domzale and twice at the J60 Maribor.
