LOGAN, Utah – Utah State gymnastics led the nation with a 3.89 team grade point average (GPA) during the 2025-26 academic year it was announced by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association (WCGA) on Wednesday.

Along with leading the nation in team GPA, Utah State had a school-record 18 gymnasts post a 3.5 or better GPA (94.74% of the team) and seven of those gymnasts earned a 4.0 GPA to earn Scholastic All-America accolades. It is the first time in program history that Utah State has finished in the top five in team GPA.

"I am incredibly proud of our student-athletes and academic advisor Jeremiah Sievers," said USU head coach Kristin White. "Over the past four years, our staff has worked diligently on creating a strong culture in academic and athletic excellence. We are seeing firsthand the great resources Utah State provides to our student-athletes to give them opportunities to be great in all areas of their lives. We had a goal to finish in the top five this year and to come out on top is truly special. Congratulations to our women on a historic accomplishment."

Seven Aggies posted a perfect 4.0 GPA in senior Avery Bibbey (sports management), senior Amari Evans (integrated studies), junior Isabella Vater (marketing), junior Mya Witte (journalism and communications), junior Hattie Wright (kinesiology), sophomore Olivia Orengo (journalism and communications), and freshman Charley Laufer (marketing).

Other Aggies honored include senior Marley Peterson (3.96 GPA in integrated studies), senior Chelsea Southam (3.75 GPA in recreation administration), junior Sydney Jelen (3.80 GPA in kinesiology), junior Nyla Morabito (3.64 GPA in kinesiology), junior Riley Sorrell (3.93 GPA in recreation administration), sophomore Kaylie Medrano (3.96 GPA in kinesiology), freshman Anabelle Dewey (3.85 GPA in kinesiology), freshman Mara Gruber (3.93 GPA in recreation administration), freshman Brylea Johnson (3.93 GPA in kinesiology), freshman Alianna Valdez (3.90 GPA in recreation administration), and freshman Sienna Yelle (3.93 GPA in recreation administration).

This is the fourth WCGA Scholastic All-America Award for Bibbey, third for Morabito, Southam, Vater, Witte and Wright, second for Jelen, Medrano, Orengo and Sorrell, and first for Dewey, Evans, Gruber, Johnson, Laufer, Peterson, Valdez and Yelle.

During the 2024-25 academic year, Utah State posted a team GPA of 3.78 (eighth in the nation). During the 2023-24 academic year, Utah State posted a team GPA of 3.59 (47th in the nation) and during the 2022-23 academic year it had a 3.49 team GPA (57th in the nation).
