LOGAN, Utah — Utah State Athletics and Aggie Sports Properties have announced the hiring of former Aggie softball student-athlete Sydney Bowman (formerly Saldaña) as the department's first-ever Associate Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) Business Development Manager. 

In the newly created role, Bowman will lead Utah State's efforts to expand Name, Image and Likeness opportunities for Aggie student-athletes by developing new corporate partnerships, enhancing the NIL components of existing sponsorships and serving as a liaison between student-athletes and business partners. 

"Sydney will be a tremendous asset to our sponsorship team and will help drive meaningful change in the NIL space at Utah State," said USU Vice President and Director of Athletics Cameron Walker. "It's important that we continue to hire former Aggies to help strengthen our department. Their experiences help us grow while attracting future student-athletes who will continue to shape our future."

Bowman, a native of Seal Beach, California, pitched for the Utah State softball team for four seasons before graduating this spring with a degree in marketing with a minor in economics. During her time as a student-athlete, she interned within the department as a marketing and creative content assistant for two years. Bowman recently married former Aggie football player Colby Bowman, who also works for USU Athletics as a business assistant.

"Utah State and Cache Valley have truly become home to me over the past four years. This is where I grew as a student-athlete, developed life-long relationships and discovered who I am, so having the opportunity to return and give back in this role is incredibly special," Bowman said. "I'm excited to help build meaningful, long-lasting partnerships that create value for both our business partners and our student-athletes. My goal is to help our coaches by creating more NIL opportunities that support the retention and success of our student-athletes as we enter the new Pac-12 era, while ensuring our partners feel valued and our athletes have the resources they need to thrive both on and off the field."

Bowman will work closely with student-athletes and local, regional and national business to create mutually beneficial NIL partnerships. She will also oversee the fulfillment of NIL agreements by helping ensure commitments are met by both student-athletes and corporate partners while fostering strong, long-term relationships. 

In addition to business development, Bowman will play a key role in educating Utah State student-athletes on NIL best practices, helping them better understand partnership expectations, personal branding and the evolving NIL landscape.
