FORT COLLINS, Colorado — Utah State golf finished in ninth place at 25-over 865 (292-285-288) at the Colorado State-hosted Ram Masters Invitational, held here at the par-70, 7,234-yard Fort Collins Country Club on Thursday and Friday.
San Francisco won the 16-team tournament with a 9-over par 849 (282-288-279), while the Dons' Nils Svanberg claimed medalist honors at 8-under 202 (71-67-64).
Utah State was led by junior
Noah Moody, who tied for 13th at 3-over 213 (73-71-69). Moody's third round of 1-under 69 was his ninth round under par in his career and his fourth career round in the 60s.
Junior
Chase Goetschel tied for 32nd at 8-over 218 (71-73-74). Sophomore transfer
Jackson Pieratt (82-67-73) and junior
Toby Heider (72-78-72) tied for 59th at 12-over 222. Sophomore
Zach Skinner tied for 84th at 18-over 228 (76-74-78). Pieratt's second-round of 3-under 67 is his collegiate low round.
Utah State will continue its fall schedule next weekend as it travels to Colorado Springs, Colorado, to compete in the Air Force-hosted Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational. The 54-hole tournament will be played from Saturday through Monday, Sept. 19-21.
