LOGAN, Utah – Utah State's cross country teams are featured in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) preseason regional rankings announced on Monday. The men's squad also received points in the national rankings, announced on Tuesday.

In the Mountain Region standings, the Aggie men tap in at the No. 6 spot, while the women's squad is just behind in seventh. Both teams have been featured in every regional ranking since 2016, with the women's streak dating back to 2012.

Both squad rankings match the final poll from last season, where the respective teams finished sixth and seventh at the NCAA Mountain Regionals, led by returners Joshua McKee and Natalie Swain.

In the national poll, the men's team received votes for the first time since 2025, sitting just outside the top 30 with 13 points.

The Mountain Region holds one of the most competitive fields for the 2026 season, with five programs premiering in both the men's and women's national polls, which is the most of any region. New Mexico, Colorado, Northern Arizona, and BYU appear in both leaderboards, while Air Force and Utah are in the men's and women's rankings, respectively. 

Five other Pac-12 rosters were featured across two regions' top 15. Colorado State joins Utah State in the Mountain Region rankings, while Washington State, Gonzaga, Boise State, and Oregon State are among the West Region leaderboards.

The Aggies begin their 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5, as they host the Utah State Alumni Challenge at the Steve and Dona Reeder Cross Country Course. The men's 7k race will begin at 9 a.m., followed by the women's 5k at 9:45 a.m.
