USAFA, Colorado – Utah State's golf team shot a 3-under 285 during its final two rounds and finished in fourth place at 6-under 858 (288-285-285) at the 57th annual Air Force-hosted Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational held here at the Eisenhower Golf Club – Blue Course.

Colorado won the 18-team tournament with a 30-under 834 (280-278-276), while Wyoming's Brody Leid claimed medalist honors at 9-under 207 (68-70-69).

Sophomore Jackson Pieratt paced Utah State as he tied for 13th at 3-under 215. The transfer from Tennessee State began the tournament with an even par 72 and then carded a 4-under 68 during his second round on Sunday for his second round in the 60s this year. He concluded the tournament with a 1-over 73 during his final 18 holes.

Junior Toby Heider tied for 16th at 2-under 214 (70-70-74) for his best-ever tournament finish and tied for his best-ever 54-hole score. Heider began the tournament with back-to-back rounds of 2-under 70 and concluded the tournament with a 2-over 74. For Heider, he now has nine rounds under par in his career. 

Junior Chase Goetschel tied for 32nd at 1-over 217 (73-73-71). He final round of 1-under 71 was his 12th-career under par round.

Junior Hunter Hall tied for 42nd at 3-over 219 (73-74-72) for his best-ever 54-hole score. His final round of even-par 72 is tied for his lowest round.

Junior Noah Moody tied for 56th at 6-over 222 (78-75-69). His final round of 3-under 69 is his 10th round under par in his career and his fifth career round in the 60s.

Utah State will continue with its fall schedule next week as it competes in the Colorado-hosted Mark Simpson Invitational at the Colorado National Golf Course in Erie, Colo., on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 29-30.
