Outdoor: Placed eighth in the javelin (56.00m/183-09) at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships… Set personal-best mark of of 56.34m (184-10) in the javelin at the BYU-hosted Clarence Robison Invitational, where he placed seventh in the event… Placed in the top-five in all five meets he competed at… Earned academic all-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete accolades.

2016 (FR)
Indoor: Placed 11th in the long jump with a mark of 6.14m (20-1.75) at the Mountain West Indoor Championships.
Outdoor: Finished seventh in the javelin with a mark of 55.15m (180-11) and 10th in the long jump with a mark of 6.60m (21-08.00) at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships… Earned academic all-MW honors.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 12-time letterwinner in football, basketball and track & field at Fort Collins (Colo.) High School… Recorded track & field bests of 7.01m (23-0) in the long jump and 14.02m (46-0) in the triple jump as a senior… Received all-state honors in track & field… Guided Fort Collins HS to a track & field state championship in 2012… Recorded 10 interceptions during his senior season in football… Averaged 14 points per game in basketball… Received all-conference honors a total of six times in football and basketball.

PERSONAL: One of five children of Ron and Carnan Thurgood… Served an LDS Church Mission in Santos, Brazil, from 2013-2015… Majoring in marketing.
