2018 (JR)
Indoor: Placed in the top-10 in the shot put at all four meets he competed in… Set personal-best mark of 15.17 meters (49-9.25) in the shot put at the Boise State-hosted Bronco Challenge, where he placed fourth in the event.
Outdoor: Competed in five meets during the season, recording a personal-best throw of 47.40 meters (155-6) in the discus at the UC Irvine-hosted Spring Collegiate Classic… Placed in the top-five on two occasions, including a fourth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 15.17 meters (49-9.25) at the Weber State-hosted Twilight Meet… Earned academic all-Mountain West and USU Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete honors.

2017 (JR)
Indoor: Competed in one meet, placing fifth in the shot put (13.65 meters/44-9.50) and 11th in the weight throw (14.17 meters/46-6) at the Boise State-hosted Ed Jacoby Invitational.
Outdoor: Did not compete… Earned USU Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete honors.

2016 (SO)
Indoor: Set a career-best mark of 15.03 meters (49-3.75) in the weight throw at the Boise State Team Challenge… Recorded a season-best mark in the shot put at the same meet with a heave of 14.30 meters (46-11). 
Outdoor: Competed in three events at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships, placing ninth in the discus (50.34 meters/165-02), 11th in the hammer (45.54 meters/149-05) and 11th in the shot put (15.20 meters/49-10.5)… Notched career-best marks of 47.35 meters (155-04) in the hammer and 15.41 meters (50-6.75) in the shot put… Earned academic all-MW and USU Joe E. and Elma Whitesides honors.=

2015 (FR)
Indoor: Redshirted during the indoor season. 
Outdoor: Best finish of the outdoor season was at the UC Irvine Invitational, where he placed second in the hammer with a mark of 40.34 meters (132-04)… Earned academic all-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete accolades.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-time letterwinner in track & field and football at Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah.... Placed fourth in region in the discus... Finished ninth at state in 2011... Was team captain and led team to state championships in 2009 and 2011.

PERSONAL: One of five children of Brad and Suzette Cottrell... Served an LDS Church Mission in Omaha, Neb... Majoring in mathematics and statistics education.
