HONORS: Second-Team All-Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference: Beam (2018); WCGA Scholastic All-American (2018); Academic All-MRGC (2016, 2018); USU Whitesides Scholar-Athlete (2016, 2017).

CAREER RECORDS: Tied for 15th all-time in school history with four beam titles.

SINGLE-SEASON RECORDS: Ranks fifth all-time in school history with a single-season beam average of 9.800 set in 2018.

SINGLE-MEET RECORDS: Tied for the fifth-best beam score in school history with a 9.925 at the UC Davis tri meet on Feb. 9, 2018.

2019 (SR): Tied for 11th on floor (9.775) and placed 20th on beam (9.625) at the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championships (3/22)… Recorded her best finish of the season at the West Virginia quad meet (2/17), placing second on beam with a season-high 9.850… Averaged 9.622 on floor and 9.523 on beam.

2018 (JR): Returned to competition on Jan. 13 at Bowling Green after missing nearly a year while recovering from a season-ending foot injury… Competed on beam against the Falcons, recording a 9.825 to place third… One of five Aggie gymnasts that qualified as an individual for the NCAA Regional Championships (4/7), where she earned a 9.725 on beam to tie for 19th… Garnered second-team all-league accolades on beam after placing sixth with a 9.825 at the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championships (3/24)… Also tied for 21st on floor with a 9.700 at the MRGC Championships… Beam average of 9.800 ranks fifth all-time in school history… Ranked seventh in the MRGC and 15th in the North Central Region with a beam Regional Qualifying Score of 9.845… Captured one of her two beam titles on the season at the UC Davis tri meet (2/9) with a career-high 9.925, which is tied for the fifth-best score in school history on the event… Also earned a career-high score of 9.825 on floor against Southern Utah (3/16) to tie for sixth… Recorded seven top-three finishes to tie for fourth on the team… Earned Earned Women’s Collegiate Gymnastics Association Scholastic All-America, academic all-MRGC and USU Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete Award accolades.

2017 (SO): Suffered a season-ending injury in the fourth meet of the season at New Hampshire (1/29)… Prior to the injury, recorded a season-high score of 9.875 on beam in a home tri meet against No. 16 North Carolina State and Bowling Green (1/13), placing first on the event… Was a USU Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete Award recipient.

2016 (FR): Competed in all 14 meets during her first season, including on beam at the NCAA Regional Championships (4/2), where she recorded a 9.625 to place 35th… Also competed on beam at the Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Championships (3/19) and scored a 9.800 to tie for seventh… Lone event win of the season was on beam at No. 23 Southern Utah (1/22), where she recorded a season-high score of 9.875… Recorded a 9.8 or better on beam in nine meets… Also set a season high of 9.725 on floor at Illinois-Chicago (3/13)… Averaged 9.704 on beam to rank second on the team… Earned academic all-MRGC honors and was a USU Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete Award recipient.
 

CLUB/HIGH SCHOOL: Competed in the all-around for Aerial Athletics Gymnastics in San Antonio, Texas, under head coach Heather Schnelzer... Qualified for the Junior Olympic National Championships in 2014 and 2015, placing 14th in the all-around in 2014... Placed first in the all-around and beam at the 2011 Junior Olympic National Invitational Tournament, then placed first on beam and third in the all-around at the 2013 tournament... Was the state and regional beam champion in 2015... Was a recipient of the Coaches Award for three consecutive seasons (2011-2013)... Graduated with a 4.0 grade point average from International School of the Americas (San Antonio), where she was a member of the National Honors Society and the Peer Assistance and Leadership program.

PERSONAL: Full name is Emily Rose Briones... Daughter of Robert and Caroline Briones... Has one sister and one brother... Her father played soccer for four years at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla... Chose Utah State because of the coaching staff and the camaraderie of the team, as well as the mountains and care-free lifestyle of Logan... Majoring in communication studies.
