Indoor: Set a personal best in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:44.79 as he placed 21st at the Idaho State-hosted Mountain States Games.
Outdoor: Won the 5,000 meters at the Utah-Weber State Spring Classic with a season-best time of 15:33.71.

2022 (FR)
Cross Country (2021): Finished in the top 11 at all three meets he competed in… Made his Utah State debut at the Idaho State Invitational, where he placed 11th with a time of 18:59.4 to help the Aggies claim the team title… Placed ninth with a time of 22:15.2 at the Utah State-hosted Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational… Placed ninth with a time of 19:34.8 at the Utah Open, where Utah State finished first as a team.
Indoor: Recorded a career-best time of 4:19.99 in the mile to place sixth at the Idaho State-hosted Mountain State Games… Placed 22nd in the 3,000 meters with a season-best time of 9:04.02 at the Idaho State-hosted Stacy Dragila Invitational… Opened the season by placing sixth in the mile with a time of 4:26.50 at the BYU Invitational… Finished sixth in the mile with a time of 4:22.26 at the Utah State-hosted Speed and Power Meet.
Outdoor: Placed eighth in the 1,500 meters and fifth in the 3,000 meters at the Utah Valley Invitational with career-best times of 4:02.95 and 8:41.94, respectively… Ran a personal-best time of 15:19.05 in the 5,000 meters to place 12th at the Idaho State-hosted Bengal Invitational… Won the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:46.07 at the BYU-hosted Robison Invitational… Placed second in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:43.17 at the Utah State-hosted Aggie Invitational.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Idaho Falls (Idaho) High School, where he was a six-time letterwinner in track & field and cross country… Named all-district eight times and all-state six times… Earned third-team honors at the Nike Cross Regionals Northwest meet in both 2018 and 2019… Helped lead the Tigers to four consecutive cross country state titles… Placed second at state as an individual during his senior season… Garnered six state medals during his prep career… Ran personal bests of 4:25 in the 1,600 meters, 9:27 in the 3,200 meters and 15:15 in the 5K… Graduated in the top three of his class at Idaho Falls HS… Earned the Out-of-State Presidential Scholarship… Was an AP Scholar with Distinction and AP Scholar with Honor.

PERSONAL: Son of William and Carrie Athay… Has one brother and one sister… Cousin, Jacob Davis, was a member of Utah State’s track & field team from 2018-21… Majoring in biology.
