Season-best 54-hole score was a 1-under 215 (75-69-72) at the Weber State-hosted Battle in the Tetons... Best tournament finish was also at the Battle in the Tetons as he tied for seventh, carding a 3-under 69 in the second round... Carded low rounds of 67 twice during the year... Had three rounds in the 60’s and five rounds under par... Recorded one top-10 finish... Earned academic all-MW honors and was a MW Scholar-Athlete.
Previous School: Spent the 2011-12 season at BYU as he finished the year with a scoring average of 75.13 over 24 rounds... Best tournament finish was at the California-hosted Alister MacKenzie Invitational as he finished tied for 12th with a 7-under 206 (70-68-68)... Had four rounds under par during the year, including back-to-back 3-under 68’s at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational... Also finished in 16th place at the BYU-hosted PING Cougar Classic with a 2-over 218 (71-73-74).
High School: Won back-to-back Utah Class 4A state individual titles during his sophomore and junior seasons at Dixie High School in St. George, Utah, as he helped the Flyers to three-straight Class 4A team titles... Earned first-team all-state honors as a sophomore, junior and senior, and was also the three-time Class 4A scoring leader... Holds the Utah High School Activities Association (UHSAA) scoring record with a low round of 63... Was an International Junior Golf Tour (IJGT) and Plantations Junior Golf Tour (PJGT) All-American... Recorded seven top-20 finishes playing in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA)... Was ranked among the top 50 players in the Golfweek Titleist rankings for 112 consecutive weeks and among the top 100 players in Junior Golf Scoreboard for 285 consecutive weeks... Selected to the 2007 Eurocup Team and represented Team USA in Scotland... Was a member of the Honor Society.
Personal: Son of Walt and Cindy Willey... Sister, Kizzy, plays volleyball at Arizona State and is a member of the U.S. National Team... His dad played basketball at Northern Idaho JC and tennis at Montana, and his mom played volleyball at Montana and was a member of the Barcelona Olympic team... His mom was also an assistant volleyball coach at Utah State in 2002... Served a two-year LDS Church Mission in Kennewick, Wash... Majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
