Event Attendance Rules

Utah State University Athletics Event Rules and Standards

Utah State University is committed to providing our community of students, professors, staff, fans, and visitors with a fantastic experience at each of our athletics events.  The following rules, standards, and expectations are promoted and enforced to support this objective.  These rules may be adjusted from time-to-time to account for new challenges, changing circumstances, etc.  An attendee may be ejected or refused entry for failure to comply with these rule and standards.
  • Ticket Standards and Rules:
    • Ticket sales will begin at the South Ticket Office three hours prior to the start of football games, two hours prior to the start of men’s basketball games, and one hour prior to volleyball, women’s basketball, and gymnastics.
    • General will call is located at the South Ticket Office and will open three hours prior to kick off on game days.
      • Visiting team player guest and will call is located on the North side of the Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik stadium inside the nutrition center and opens two (2) hours prior to kick off.
      • USU player guest, recruit and high school coach will call is also located on the North side of the Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik stadium inside the nutrition center.
      • Photo ID is required to pick up tickets.
    • Event tickets may not be duplicated or resold on USU premises. A detached stub renders a paper ticket invalid.
    • A ticket is required for any participant over the age of 3. 
      • Children under the age of 3 must sit on the lap of the accompanying adult and not occupy an additional seat.
      • Children attending events must be supervised at all times.
 
  • General Rules of Attendance. 
    • Good Sportsmanship. All USU Athletics event attendees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that is conducive to good sportsmanship and a positive experience for players, staff, and fans.
    • Assumption of Risks. By attending the athletic event, the ticket holder assumes and accepts all risks and hazards associated with participation in the event.
    • Postponement and Cancellation.  The athletic event may be postponed or canceled in keeping with the USU Athletics Event Postponement and Cancellation Policy.
    • Illegal Activity.  No illegal activity will be tolerated at any athletics event.
 
  • Additional Rules of Attendance. 
    • No outside food, beverage, bottles, cans, or containers are allowed within the venue; however, factory-sealed, clear plastic water bottles are allowed (less than one liter, one per guest)
    • Smoking inside the venues is prohibited (including e-cigarettes)
    • No standing or sitting in aisles, railings, or stairs
    • Banners or signs are permitted if they are in good taste and contain no commercial or political messaging, profanity, or derogatory statements.
    • Signs may not block the view of other guests, be affixed to walls or rails or cover any existing stadium signage.
    • Signs or poles may not be made out of wood or metal material. USU Event Staff reserves the right to confiscate any signs.
    • Video and photography of any USU venue or athletic event held therein cannot be used commercially without written permission from USU.
    • Chair (stadium) seats are available to rent on game day in Maverik Stadium. Personal chair seats may be brought into the stadium as long as they are not oversized and do not take up more than one seat.
    • Attendees are prohibited from distributing banners, booklets, business cards, circulars, commercial advertising, flyers, folders, handbills, leaflets, notices, pamphlets, posters, stickers, or any other written, printed, and/or painted material without written permission from USU.
    • For fire code purposes, strollers are not permitted inside of athletic venues. Stroller parking for Maverik Stadium is available outside of the gates on the North and South ends of the Stadium. These items are left at the owner’s risk.
    • In Maverik Stadium and the Spectrum, bags larger than 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches must be made of a see-through material.
    • The following items are prohibited within athletic event venues:
      • Alcohol, Tobacco, E-cigarettes, or Vaping devices
      • Animals (except for service animals)
      • Artificial Noisemakers, Fireworks, or Laser Pointers
      • Bicycles, Skateboards, or Scooters
      • Camera Lenses Greater than Four (4) Inches Fully Extended
      • Monopods, Bipods, or Tripods
      • Oversized Stadium Seats, or Lawn Chairs
      • Coolers, Glass, or Aluminum Containers
      • Drones or Remote-Controlled Devices
      • Outside Food or Drink
      • Personal Heaters (e.g. propane)
      • Strollers
      • Umbrellas (ponchos are permitted)
      • Weapons, except as expressly permitted by state law. 
      • Items not listed but that are determined by security personnel or venue management to be a risk to the safety or enjoyment of guests will not be allowed into the venue.
 
HOLDER VOLUNTARILY ASSUMES ALL RISKS, HAZARDS AND DANGERS relating to the Event, the Stadium, or the Stadium's environs, including the risk of personal injury (including death), sickness, including the risk of exposure to Diseases or the causes thereof, or lost, stolen or damaged property, whether occurring before, during, or after the Event, however caused, whether arising out of the negligence of the Management Parties (defined below) or otherwise, and Holder hereby waives all claims and potential claims relating to such risks, hazards and dangers. Holder covenants not to bring any such claims against the Management Parties. Management is not responsible for lost, stolen, destroyed, duplicated or counterfeit tickets and may refuse to honor such tickets. Further, this ticket may not be used for, or in connection with, any form of commercial or trade purposes including, but not limited to, any advertising, promotions, contests, sweepstakes, giveaways, gambling or gaming activities, without the express written consent of Aggie Sports Properties and Utah State. Resale of tickets purchased or acquired via promotional codes, links, or giveaways is prohibited. This ticket may not be resold on USU premises. All events are subject to change. No refunds or exchanges will be permitted. Management may eject or refuse entry to the ticket holder for violation of facility or University rules, illegal activity or misconduct. No outside food or beverage, umbrellas, alcohol, bottles, cans or containers are allowed. All patrons age 3 years and older must have a ticket to enter. Use of this ticket in violation of any law is strictly prohibited.
