2025 (SR)
Cross Country (2024): Took 44th at the Utah State Alumni Challenge with a 7K time of 22:08.58… Placed 29th at the BYU Autumn Classic with a four-mile time of 20:52.75… Finished ninth at the Utah State-hosted Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational with a 7K time of 21:58.06, helping the Aggies to a team title… Took eighth at the Utah Open, leading all Aggie runners with an 8K time of 26:19.36… Placed 27th at the Mountain West Championships with an 8K time of 25:25.6, helping Utah State finish sixth.
Indoor: Part of USU’s winning DMR team at the Idaho State-hosted Mountain States Games, finishing in a personal-best 10:04.89… Set a personal best in the mile with a time of 4:11.81 as he placed second at the Nevada Invitational.
Outdoor: Ran a personal-best outdoor mile of 4:12.70 at the BYU-hosted Robison Invitational, placing 24th.

Cross Country (2023): Opened the season with a fourth-place finish at the Utah State-hosted Sagebrush Invitational with a 7K time of 21:32, helping Utah State win the team title… Took 162nd at the Virginia Invitational with an 8K time of 24:56.4… Placed 31st with an 8K time of 25:41.9 in the B race at the Wisconsin-hosted Nuttycombe Invitational… Finished 38th at the Mountain West Championships with an 8K time of 24:34.9.
Indoor: Achieved a season-best finish of fourth in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:38.17 at the Weber State Invitational.
Outdoor: Took fifth in the 3,000 meters with a season-best time of 8:50.18 at the Utah Tech Invitational.

2023 (SO)
Cross Country (2022): Opened the season with a sixth-place finish at the Utah State-hosted Sagebrush Invitational, where he ran a 7K time of 21:45 to help the Aggies capture the team title… Best finish was at the Utah Open, where he placed fifth with a 6K time of 19:32.0, once again helping Utah State place first as a team… Placed 72nd with an 8K time of 25:11.1 in the B Race at the Wisconsin-hosted Nuttycombe Invitational… Finished 181st with an 8K time of 24:35.9 at the Lehigh-hosted Paul Short Run to help Utah State place third out of 46 teams.
Indoor: Finished 10th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:45.35 at the Idaho State-hosted Stacy Dragila Invitational.
Outdoor: Did not compete during the outdoor season.

2022 (FR)
Indoor: Won the mile with a time of 4:15.16 at the Idaho State-hosted Stacy Dragila Invitational… Placed first in the DMR with a season-best time of 10:22.58 at the BYU Invitational… Finished second in the 3,000 meters with a career-best time of 8:24.98 at the Nebraska-hosted Mark Colligan Memorial… Placed fifth in the mile with a season-best time of 4:14.68 at the New Mexico-hosted Don Kirby Elite Invitational.
Outdoor: Opened the season with a career-best time of 14:46.36 in the 5,000 meters to finish 44th at the San Francisco-hosted Mike Fanelli Track Classic… Placed 10th in the 1,500 meters with a career-best time of 3:52.74 at the Fresno State Invitational… Finished ninth in the mile with a season-best time of 4:17.46 at the BYU-hosted Robison Invitational… Placed third in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:58.25 at the Utah State-hosted Aggie Invitational.

HIGH SCHOOL: An eight-time letterwinner in track & field and cross country at Hurricane (Utah) High School and Pocatello (Idaho) High School, where he spent his freshman season… Captured six individual state titles during his prep career… Won the individual state cross country title for Pocatello HS, leading the Indians to the team title… Captured the 1,600- and 3,200-meter state titles in track & field that same year… Won individual state championships in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters as a sophomore, and the 800 meters as a senior… Was the state runner-up in cross country during his junior year with the Tigers… Helped lead Hurricane HS to a second-place finish at the 2016 state championships… Ran career-best times of 1:53.80 in the 800 meters, 4:14.19 in the 1,600 meters and 9:21.46 in the 3,200 meters… Earned four letters in wrestling as he finished his career with an impressive 171-24 record… Captured the individual state wrestling title as a junior at Hurricane HS, while placing second in both 2017 and 2019… Went 53-5 on the mat during his senior season with the Tigers… Graduated first in his class of 289 with a 4.0 GPA.

PERSONAL: One of eight children of Philip and Paula Armstrong… His father was a member of the BYU wrestling team in the late 1980s… Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Rostov, Russia, from 2019-21… Brother, Joshua Armstrong, is a member of USU’s cross country and track & field programs… Majoring in finance.
