Cross Country (2025): Placed 20th at the Utah-hosted Beehive Invitational with a 7K time of 22:47.00… Finished 65th at the Lehigh-hosted Paul Short Run with an 8K time of 24:12.7… Took 25th at the Mountain West Championships with an 8K time of 23:40.9, helping the Aggies to a fifth-place finish… Placed 40th at the NCAA Mountain Regional Championships, completing the 10K race in 31:20.7 to help USU to a sixth-place finish… Earned Academic All-MW accolades.
Indoor: Finished fifth in the 5,000 meters and 15th in the 3,000 meters at the Mountain West Indoor Championships with respective times of 13:59.17 and 8:20.51… Set a personal best in the 3,000 meters with a time of 7:57.76 (second all-time at USU) as he placed 19th in the field at the Washington-hosted Husky Classic… Placed first in his section of the 5,000 meters at the Washington Invitational with a personal-best time of 13:47.78, which ranks fifth all-time at USU… Won the 3,000 meters at the Idaho State-hosted Snake River Open in a time of 8:14.53.
Outdoor: Set a personal-best 4:06.70 in the 1,500 meters at the BYU Robison Invitational, finishing 24th in the field.

Cross Country (2024): Took 26th at the Utah State Alumni Challenge with a 7K time of 21:30.60… Placed fifth at the BYU Autumn Classic with a four-mile time of 19:55.51… Finished 285th at the Lehigh-hosted Paul Short Run with an 8K time of 26:07.2… Took 87th at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals with an 8K time of 23:46.5… Placed 36th at the NCAA Mountain Region Championships with a 10K time of 30:02.2, helping the Aggies to a fourth-place finish and at-large nationals berth… Finished 170th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships with a 10K time of 30:27.0.
Indoor: Took 14th in the 3,000 meters at the Mountain West Indoor Championships with a time of 8:14.68… Set a personal best in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:07.59 as he placed 106th at the Boston University-hosted Valentine Invitational… Ran a personal-best time of 7:58.52 in the 3,000 meters at the Washington Invitational, placing 11th.
Outdoor: Placed ninth in the 10,000 meters and 15th in the 5,000 meters at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships with times of 30:04.83 and 14:12.93, respectively… Set a personal best in the 5,000 meters with a time of 13:59.34 (eighth all-time at USU) as he placed 12th at the Azusa Pacific-hosted Bryan Clay Invitational… Earned Academic All-MW honors.

2024 (SO)
Cross Country (2023): Opened the season with a fifth-place finish at the Utah State-hosted Sagebrush Invitational with a 7K time of 21:34, helping Utah State win the team title… Took 108th at the Virginia Invitational with an 8K time of 24:28.8… Finished 223rd at the Wisconsin-hosted Nuttycombe Invitational with an 8K time of 25:12.0.
Indoor: Did not compete during the indoor season.
Outdoor: Finished seventh in the 5,000 meters with a season-best time of 14:06.17 and eighth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 30:36.93 at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships… Won the 3,000 meters with a personal-best time of 8:29.78 at the Utah Tech Invitational… Set a season best in the 10,000 meters with a time of 30:15.63 as he placed third at the Long Beach State-hosted Beach Invitational… Academic All-MW selection… USU Whitesides Scholar-Athlete.

Cross Country (2022): Began his collegiate career by placing 15th with a 7K time of 22:17 at the Utah State-hosted Sagebrush Invitational, helping the Aggies place first as a team… Best finish of the season came at the Idaho State Open, where he placed third with a 6K time of 18:37.1 as Utah State captured the team title… Finished 15th with an 8K time of 24:31.3 in the Open Race at the Lehigh-hosted Paul Short Run… Helped Utah State capture the team title at the Utah Open, placing 10th with a 6K time of 20:17.7.
Indoor: Did not compete during the indoor season.
Outdoor: Finished 13th in the 10,000 meters with a season-best time of 31:52.44 at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships… Set a season best in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:25.63 as he finished second at the Fresno State Invitational… Won the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:37.57 at the Long Beach State-hosted Beach Invitational… USU Whitesides Scholar-Athlete

HIGH SCHOOL: An eight-time letterwinner in track & field and cross country at both Lone Peak High School in Alpine, Utah, and Camas (Washington) High School, where he spent his first three seasons as a prep student-athlete… Placed third with a time of 15:29.7 at the 2018 UHSAA 6A State Cross Country Championships during his senior season… Finished fourth with a time of 15:36.1 at the Region IV Cross Country Championships… Won the 2018 Red Devil Cross Country Invitational title with a time of 15:35.0… Did not compete in track & field at Lone Peak HS during his senior season due to injury… Earned MVP, First-Team All-Region and First-Team All-State honors in cross country for the Knights in 2018… Helped lead Camas HS to a 2017 region track & field championship and a 2018 state title.

PERSONAL: One of four children of Matthew and Jessica Floyd… Full name is Lyman John Floyd… Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to British Columbia… Graduated with a bachelor’s degree in forestry ecology management in May 2026.
