Indoor: Placed 12th in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.04 at the Mountain West Indoor Championships… Ran a career-best time of 8.45 to finish fifth in the 60-meter hurdles at the BYU Invitational… Set a career-best time of 3:26.40 in the 4x400-meter relay to place sixth at the Nebraska-hosted Mark Colligan Memorial, where he also finished sixth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.49… Placed second in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.47 at the Utah State-hosted Speed and Power Meet… Finished eighth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.47 at the Idaho State-hosted Stacy Dragila Invitational… Placed 20th in the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.50 at the New Mexico-hosted Don Kirby Elite Invitational.
Outdoor: Placed third in the 400-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 56.09 at the Utah State-hosted Aggie Invitational, where he also finished fifth in the 110-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 15.00… Opened the season with a second-place finish in the 110-meter hurdles (15.10) and a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles (57.39) at the Utah Valley Invitational… Placed ninth in both the 110-meter hurdles (15.15) and 400-meter hurdles (57.27) at the Idaho State-hosted Bengal Invitational… Finished sixth in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.04 at the BYU-hosted Robison Invitational… Placed 43rd in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.28 at the Long Beach Invitational... Earned Academic All-MW honors and was also named a MW Scholar-Athlete and a Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete.

2021 (FR)
Indoor: Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Outdoor: Competed in the 110-meter hurdles at three meets with his best finish coming at the Weber State Twilight Meet, where he placed third with a time of 15.09… Finished sixth in the prelims of the 110-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 14.99 at the BYU-hosted Robison Invitational… Earned academic all-Mountain West and MW Scholar-Athlete honors.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-time letterwinner in track & field at Davis High School in Kaysville, Utah… Helped the Darts capture three-straight UHSAA 6A State Championships… Won individual state titles in the 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, and was a part of the 4x400-meter relay state championship team… Set personal-best times of 14.37 in the 110-meter hurdles, 37.76 in the 300-meter hurdles and 48.05 in the 400 meters… Was also a three-time letterwinner and three-time region champion on the Davis HS swim team… Swam career-best times of 22.2 in the 50-meter freestyle, 48.9 in the 100-meter freestyle and 58.3 in the 100-meter backstroke… Graduated from Davis HS with a 3.95 GPA to earn the New Century Scholarship and USU Merit Scholarship.

PERSONAL: Son of Spencer and Barbara Simonsen… Has three older brothers… Brother, Hunter, was a member of the Utah State track & field team for three seasons from 2018-20… … Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to in Villahermosa, Mexico… Majoring in kinesiology and minoring in chemistry.
