Karen Christensen is in her first season as the director of Utah State's track & field and cross country operations.

In her role, Christensen will track compliance, coordinate team travel on the road and help organize and run USU-hosted track & field and cross country events.

Christensen was a member of Utah State's track & field team from 2018-22, specializing in both the 800 meters and distance medley relay. She ran the second-fastest 800-meter time in program history with a time of 2:09.50 at the 2022 Mountain West Indoor Championships.

The native of Orem, Utah, was also part of squads that recorded USU's second-, fifth- and seventh-fastest times in the distance medley relay, recording a career-best time of 11:37.89 in the event at the Washington Invitational in 2019.

Christensen, who graduated from Utah State in 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, earned academic all-Mountain West honors four times and was tabbed an MW Scholar-Athlete in 2022. She is currently working on her master’s degree in sports management.
