Lindsey Hall

  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Lindsey Hall is in her third season as an assistant track & field coach at Utah State, helping coach the Aggie jumps and multi-events, along with sprints and hurdles. Hall also serves as the recruiting coordinator over track & field, outside of the distance program.

During the 2020 campaign, which was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hall helped coach a trio of athletes who garnered first-team all-Mountain West honors, including one that captured a title at the Indoor Championship.

Chandler Obray earned all-MW high jump honors for the second-straight season as he won the event with a leap of J2.06 meters (6-9.00) at the Indoor Championships. Hunter Simonsen also garnered all-league honors as he placed third in the high jump with a mark of J2.06 meters (6-9.00). In the men’s triple jump, Kyle Brost finished third to earn all-conference honors after breaking his own school record with a jump of 15.22 meters (49-11.25).

Twice during the season, Simonsen earned a pair of MW Field Athlete of the Week honors. The first one came following his performance at the Boise State-hosted Jackson’s/Nike Boise Indoor Invitational, where he placed first in the high jump with a mark of 2.06 meters (6-9.00). He was named the MW Field Athlete of the Week the following weekend, as well, as he had a season-high mark of 2.08 meters (6-9.75) in the high jump to place seventh – the best finish by an athlete from the conference – at the New Mexico-hosted Don Kirby Elite Invitational.

Hall also helped coach the men’s 4x400-meter relay squad to first-team all-MW honors. The relay team consisting of Skyler Andam, Mikhail Kidd, Spencer Eldridge and Nathan Kaufusi clocked a time of 3:13.49, which ranks ninth all-time in school history, to finish third at the Indoor Championships.

In 2019, Hall coached a trio of athletes who captured conference titles. Simonsen won the indoor high jump title with a height of 2.18 meters (7-1.75), while Leaugen Fray was the outdoor champ in the event with a mark of 2.12 meters (6-11.5). Brost placed first in the outdoor triple jump with a school-record mark of 15.47 meters (50-9.25).

Garnering first-team all-MW honors during the 2019 indoor season included Talie Bonds (third, pentathlon, 3,762 points) on the women’s side. Simonsen, Obray (second, high jump, 2.14 meters/7-0.25), Fray (third, high jump, 2.10 meters/6-10.75; third, long jump, 7.19 meters/23-7.25), Sam Nelson (third, pole vault, 5.10 meters/16-8.75), Brost (third, triple jump, 14.81 meters/48-7.25) and Roman Ruiz (third, heptathlon, 5,078 points) were honored on the men’s side.

Brost also set the then-school record in the indoor triple jump with a leap of 15.07 meters (49-5.50) at the New Mexico-hosted Don Kirby Invitational. Following that feat, he was named the MW Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week. Brost garnered MW Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors one time during the 2019 outdoor campaign, as well.

For the outdoor season, Audrey Garrett earned first-team all-MW honors on the women’s side as she placed third in the high jump with a mark of 1.71 meters (5-7.25). The men were represented by Fray, Brost and Simonsen (second, high jump, 2.06 meters/6-9).

Brost (triple jump), Fray (high jump), Obray (high jump), Simonsen (high jump) and Jennifer Christensen (high jump) all participated in the NCAA West Preliminary Championships. Christensen and Brost both placed 16th in their respective events, just four places away from advancing to the NCAA Finals held in Austin, Texas.

Hall has served as a member of the Utah State Diversity and Inclusion Council, as well as been on a hiring committee for the athletics academic coordinator positing overseeing track & field/cross country.

Prior to joining the Aggies, Hall served as a countable volunteer-assistant coach at Montana for four seasons, helping coach the multi-events, hurdles and jumps. She also was the sprints, hurdles, jumps and multis head coach for the Mountain West Youth Track Club. During two of those years, she continued training full-time in the heptathlon.

Hall won three pentathlon titles and a high jump title at the Big Sky Conference Championships and in 2011 was the league’s most valuable athlete for indoor track and field. The native of Missoula, Mont., is the co-Big Sky Indoor Championships recorder holder in the pentathlon.

Furthermore, Hall scored the most points of any athlete at a Big Sky Championship meet (43), to go along with 100 career points scored at both the indoor and outdoor championships, the most by any female.

She won the Big Sky Conference heptathlon title as a senior at the Outdoor Championships – her second title – amassing 5,401 points. Her overall collegiate best was 5,604, while her post-collegiate best in the heptathlon is 5,751. As a junior, she was co-outstanding performer at the conference’s outdoor championships.

Indoor-wise, she is the school record holder in the 60-meter hurdles (8.48 seconds) and held the record in the pentathlon (3,928 points before it was broken in 2019 by Erika McLeod.

Hall became an All-American after placing seventh in the heptathlon at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Following her stellar collegiate career, Hall competed professionally and was a 2015 Team USA Thorpe Cup member, which is an international track & field competition between the United States and Germany.
