Cross Country (2024): Took 12th at the Utah State Alumni Challenge with a 7K time of 21:20.44… Placed sixth in the open race at the Lehigh-hosted Paul Short Run with an 8K time of 24:11.2… Finished 22nd in the open race at the Wisconsin Pre-Nationals with an 8K time of 24:33.8… Took 32nd at the Mountain West Championships with an 8K time of 25:31.7, helping Utah State finish sixth.
Indoor: Ran a season-best time of 14:31.64 as he placed 21st at the Washington Invitational.
Outdoor: Finished 13th in the 10,000 meters and 26th in the 5,000 meters at the Mountain West Outdoor Championships with respective times of 30:27.88 and 14:48.42… Set a personal best in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:48.42 as he placed second at the Utah State-hosted Aggie Invitational… Ran a personal-best time of 29:55.56 in the 10,000 meters at the San Francisco State-hosted Mike Fanelli Track Classic, placing eighth.

2024 (JR)
Cross Country (2023): Helped Utah State win the team title at the Utah State-hosted Sagebrush Invitational by placing seventh with a 7K time of 21:45… Finished 166th with an 8K time of 24:59.7 at the Virginia Invitational… Was the top Aggie finisher when he placed fifth with a 7K time of 1:17.45 at the Utah State-hosted Steve T. Reeder Memorial, boosting Utah State to a team victory… Took 84th with an 8K time of 26:22.6 in the B race at the Wisconsin-hosted Nuttycombe Invitational… Placed 50th at the Mountain West Championships with an 8K time of 24:59.9.
Indoor: Set a personal best in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:18.53 as he finished 11th at the Washington Invitational.
Outdoor: Finished second in the 5,000 meters with a season-best time of 14:55.78 at the Utah State-hosted Aggie Invitational.

2023 (SO)
Cross Country (2022): Finished 51st with an 8K time of 24:56.8 in the B Race at the Wisconsin-hosted Nuttycombe Invitational… Made his Utah State debut at the Lehigh-hosted Paul Short Run, where he placed ninth with an 8K time of 24:22.8 in the Open Race.
Indoor: Finished sixth in the 3,000 meters with a personal-best time of 8:30.33 at the New Mexico-hosted Don Kirby Invitational… Set a season best in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:30.10 as he placed 12th at the Washington Invitational.
Outdoor: Set a season best in the 10,000 meters with a time of 30:41.74 as he placed 53rd at the Azusa Pacific-hosted Bryan Clay Invitational… Finished fifth in the 5,000 meters with a season-best time of 14:41.75 at the Fresno State Invitational.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Ridgeline High School in Millville, Utah, after competing two years at Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum, Utah, earning eight letters overall between cross country and track & field… Helped Ridgeline HS to region championships in both 2016 and 2017, finishing individually as the region runner-up in 2016… Registered career-best times of 2:06 in the 800 meters, 4:35 in the 1,600 meters, 10:01 in the 3,200 meters and 16:28 in the 5,000 meters… Member of the National Honors Society and a Nucor Foundation Scholarship recipient.

PERSONAL: Son of Ryan and Renee Nelson… Has three younger sisters… Served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Arequipa, Peru, from 2018-2020… Majoring in accounting.
