Indoor: Placed 13th in the prelims of the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.65 at the Mountain West Indoor Championships… Finished first in the DMR with a time of 10:22.58 at the BYU Invitational… Named the MW Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after he placed first in the 800 meters with a career-best time of 1:54.19 at the Utah State-hosted Speed and Power Meet… Placed sixth in the 4x400-meter relay with a career-best time of 3:26.40 at the Nebraska-hosted Mark Colligan Memorial, where he also finished fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.07… Recorded a career-best time of 4:17.55 in the mile to place fifth at the Idaho State-hosted Stacy Dragila Invitational… Finished 17th in the mile with a time of 4:25.98 at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational.
Outdoor: Ran a career-best time of 1:54.91 in the 800 meters to place eighth at the Fresno State Invitational… Recorded a career-best time of 3:25.19 in the 4x400-meter relay to finish eighth at the BYU-hosted Robison Invitational, where he also placed seventh in the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.45… Placed second in both the 800 meters and the 4x400-meter relay at the Utah State-hosted Aggie Invitational with respective times of 1:55.37 and 3:26.88… Opened the season by placing 12th in the 1,500 meters (4:05.20) and sixth in the 4x400-meter relay (3:26.95) at the Utah Valley Invitational... Earned Academic All-MW honors and was also named a MW Scholar-Athlete and a Joe E. and Elma Whitesides Scholar-Athlete.

2020 (FR)
Indoor: Placed seventh in the DMR with a personal-best time of 10:06.27 at the Mountain West Indoor Championships, where he also finished 13th in the prelims of the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.27… Captured first place in the DMR with a time of 10:14.31 at the Boise State-hosted Ed Jacoby Invitational… Finished third in the mile with a season-best time of 4:24.24 at the BYU Indoor Invitational… Ran season-best time of 1:55.61 in the 800 meters at the New Mexico-hosted Don Kirby Elite Invitational, where he finished ninth… Earned academic all-MW honors.
Outdoor: Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

HIGH SCHOOL: An eight-time letterwinner in track & field and cross country at Stansbury (Utah) High School… Helped the Stallions to a 4A state cross country title as a senior… State runner-up in the 800-meter run in 2018, as well as in the 1,600-meter run in 2017… Posted career-best marks of 1:54.9 in the 800 meters and 4:22 in the 1,600 meters… Also participated in wrestling at Stansbury HS… Graduated at the top of his class with a 4.0 GPA, and earned academic all-state honors.
 
PERSONAL: Son of David and Margaret Wintch… Has six older siblings… Served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to Calgary, Canada… Majoring in biological engineering.
